OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Div 818 PIR 9/2

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

Passing out-My husband hit the ground once. He was on the color guard team at our first duty station, China Lake, CA. He was holding the Navy flag. It was about 110 outside and the ceremony went for over an hour and a half. He said he had kept his legs slightly bent but the heat was too much. He hit the deck and then popped back up, he said he was stilling seeing black so he had to move away and sit down. I was in ranks watching him and giggled because I knew he wasn't hurt. We had so many people pass out that day and the CO never got the hint!

I told Ben last night to change his invite list and he was LOST as to what to do... who to go too etc. especially considering their busy days. Do you have any suggestion as to how he can do that???

Hi Kelly We are ALL going to have a great day because we are now under the 30 day mark until we see our sailors. Wishing everyone a letter today or tomorrow. A phone call would be way too much to wish for. :)
