Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Div 818 PIR 9/2

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

Thanks Lydia for the great info of what's going on in DIv 818. Without Ben we wouldn't have much info on the doings there. What's your letter count to date? Oh do I sound a bit jealous? Just a little. But I'm still thrilled for you and us because you share your Ben with us. THANKS :) BTW Trying to picture my macho son in tighty whities definetly puts a smile on my face. :o)

Lydia, That's one think that my son said too was about disliking the "tightie whities" he hasn't worn anything like that since he was 3!! Bring on the white boxers!!

Form letter came back some of his comments... Post marked July 29 - assuming he wrote it a few days before that.....
Today is week 2 day 2 but 3 actual weeks?? Spec Ops moms ---- they apparently go to bed at 10 and rise at 4 most of the time...
Ben, GET THIS, when asked about his RDCs.... Oh my ---- he really "loves" his RDC! Kelly 59 - whats up with that!? Woow no wonder he is advancing.... hahaha.
bunkmate is friendly - last name is Kirchner from Penn... any moms recognize that ???
The food is (and he made his own little letter with comment that says - Amazing! -
RDCs are loud...
his inspections are "personally perfect but as a team, not good"....

When he PIRs he wants : energy drinks, Face Book, sleep for 12 hours, not wearing tall socks, to be able to talk while he eats, AND TO WEAR BRIEFS NOT WHITE TIGHTIES!!! hahahahah lmao at that one.. man they hate those things dont they!!
Anyway - brought a smile to me - thought yall might enjoy too!

There are some wonderful very currrent utube videos produced & presented by the Navy. I watch them whenever I'm down & out. It helps not only see what the Recruit Training Command looks like but also helps me understand what the 8 weeks involve, beginning to end. I highly recommend them!

richsmom, Trisha, Kelly - yes - a beautiful facility! Just hope I dont get lost in the parking lot.... hahah - seriously moms I need my GPS just to get from the gate to the building where they actually have the ceremony....hahahah--- did someone say blond I know I heard blond...
