Information

Div 818 PIR 9/2

As our recruits get furthur into bootcamp I thought that maybe some of the Moms in Division 818 PIR 9/2 would like to get more specific information. I'm brand new at this but thought I'd try and maybe some more knowledgable Mom's will help us.

WOW! our PIR group is huge! I like this smaller one. :) Is anyone else the slightest bit concerned that we are going to have to arrive at RTC at 4am just to get seats???

OH CKH Praise the Lord- Im soooooo relieved for you now time to pray for my son-- shin splints

moms - wifes.... I got two letters today and you know Hosanna (sister) got one.... medical probs but amazing change I see in my Recruit / Son talk about a worm turning into a butterfly --- Im only going to share one letter because they are soooo long....this on will touch your heart..Ben is on medical leave from bad ass (sorry) shin splints - he has battled them from the get go but refuses to give in --- today they gave him 3 choices.... but anyway here is his letter... bear with me it is long - the other one is great tooo..our boys are becoming men... I could not be more PROUD.... excuse any misspells Im a pooped emotional mommie

" I just got done doing colors which is raising the competition flags at 0500 and the ensign at 0800 (help JessicaB) This is another job of the Ship Staff. Its good and bad - one the one hand I get some free time because the div usually got to Dive Mo (help again ) or today basgs (help) cant read the tiny writing... which is just different situations for PT'ing But on the down side I dont get a workout and if I mess up it will be bad. The guy who showed me how to do it messed up once and put the Ensign up at the wrong time and some RDC made him do 8 counts saying" Im going to leave this out mommies - you dont need to hear this..." for a few hours.... Time here is weird - Ive only been here for 3 weeks but it feels like its all I know... I knwo that im the same person, I still laugh at stupid things, and still miss everyone but it feels surreal. It feels like I was just sitting in the class falling asleep being angry becasue I had to wake up at 0600 and take 30 minutes to get ready. Everyone said you will miss High School" and I said Bull @%# ... was completely right. It really is about the little things ___ MOMS NOW I AM CRYING BIG TIME OKAY..... the little things. You shouldnt take anything for granted -- watching a movie, sleeping past 0700 (military time too funny) wearing what you want, People speaking to you like you are a human...Walking into a gas station and taking 5 minutes to pickout an enery drink. Driving around trying to figure out something... making up nicknames (Ryan) lol AKA Ponce (not sure about that moms Ryan will be at boot camp after Ben - best buddies) Taking a shower longer than 45 seconds. OH and a shower with out a bunch of dudes! I miss being able to talk to girls... you can getr ASMED - set back for that.... I miss my Nikes. Im weight lifting thought Im a blast at push ups now.. I miss music, cars, candy, my down comforter, ...... Mom I got your letters ---no the shoes are not that great and they look completely stupid (I am soo laughing - dryed the tears) Let me know if you got my letters..... love you .. Please put this on FB...Oh moms/wives....in the other letter Ben does not say pressing he says IRONING - and they have to Stand In Line... hahaha that is when he writes his letters ...clever! ---- then he talks about his shin splints that you saw my daughter his sisy talk about .... need soooo much prayer moms for that he is on medical apparently... but knowing Ben he took the 2 days and is back running.... hope yall get a tear and a smile over this one......

I Just got off the phone with my husband!!! He sounds good, he got all his wisdom teeth out. He was happy to get some sleep wiyth the 2 days SIQ. The RDC's told him he was not mean enough, so he is now a section leader. He says the group is mostly young guys. He says that they have not been doing well and he thinks they will turn it around. I think it was harder for me to hear his voice and not be able to see him. I miss him so much my heart hurts. I cant stop crying. I am happy for everyone who got calls. The tears keep coming, I can't see I will check in later.

Kelly-How did your call go? Mine was great. Now that he was calm...got the whole story behind the beginning of the week. BTW-RDC is reading these post every day! I am guessing we all got called at the same time?

richsmom, You are so right that you taught him well! If our son sent a letter to his grandparents I have to be honest I would have been alittle upset but then proud of him for thinking of them too! From what I read in the letter, this division is kept really busy & the RDC's are alot harder on them so hopefully by next week (week 4) letters will start to flow from their division!

Hosanna - If I can ever get my son to write me a letter I will ask him about Ben. Don't worry. No news is good news.
