and he didn't use it in any of his ads, thank goodness. The only reason I know that is that Joe received a commendation letter from him on the occasion of his Eagle court of honor (regretting he could not attend, LOL)

Hey moms! I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but there's a Navy for Mom's Holiday Project page and I'm sure they would love help in getting holiday goodie bags/stockings to our sailors who will be deployed. USS Truman will be in the gulf this Christmas and we're just going to make sure our sailors have a little Christmas joy sent their way. Please check out the page and help out if you can, the deadline is Nov 1, I know it's short notice, but it's a very very worthy cause. .

Congratulations to all on all of the projects and graduations and weddings!
The Eagle BOR was a success. If you ever are asked to sit on one, please do it. We've all been in the "hot seat" and the other side of the door ....waiting....
But to be at the board table and listen as a young man tells of his hopes and dreams and accomplishments and you can just tell he lives his life with honor and dignity...wow...at such a young age and in this society. I was welling up with pride, and I had just only meet him that night. Just an affirmation that we are truly doing something right with this program.

Dee congrats to you, you SAILOR, and all the others. Enjoy the fun of being able to connect with him more often that you have in the last 8 weeks!! :)Thanks for passing along that info. We got a text yesterday, that he will be graduating A School on Nov. 19! Looks like I'll be spending Thanksgiving in FL! :) First time for everything!

Wow Becky!!!! Congratuations on the wedding...a daughter in law....we know about the working hard on the project, Jordan is coming along wonderfully. It'll be done for Veteran Day dedication!
Congratulations dee!!!! Hope you gave your sailor a big hug for us too! So now where is your sailor off for A school?
Liz, you should know it's a teenager thing! They'll surprise us though when they get everything done, just will never understand why it has to be at the last minute all the time. If their hair isn't on fire and they aren't going 100 mph, they aren't satisfied.....lol
Mom2, I've never sat on an Eagle Board, it must be awesome....been on the other side of the door waiting....that's racks the nerves....have fun and congratulations to the young man in review!

Momma- gret news on your sailor visit and project approval. My eagle Sailor will be finsihing up A school soon. We hope he comes home between A school and assignment. He took the state of Washington. Go figure.
As for the other one who is working on his Eagle. It's down to the last of teh paperwork. UGH! This Sunday I told him I wanted to drop off his papers tot eh scoutmaster so he could take them to councill. He said oh I need another paper to fil in. UGH! then he goes and fills it in and says i want Dad to check it he knows if it's done right. You don't. He has til Nov 20th to get it done. I was hoping he would ahve had it done before this adn we could have his court if his brother was n town. Nope I don't believe it will happen. KIDS! or should I say BOYS!

Sandy...yeah!!! I love it when the boys actually run the troop! It's an awesome experience for everyone and if they fail, they learn the lesson much much better. My youngest Jordan, went in front of the county board of supervisors to get approval for the site of his eagle scout project....they approved it!!! So this weekend we are starting it has to be done by Veteran's Day, keep us in your prayers and if you don't hear from me, this is the reason why.....

I agree with you Christine :-) The waiting is the hardest part. Gerry is doing core training right now and hopes to be done by monday. But as we know this could change. I do get to talk or text with him everyday which is sweet!!! Just bought a webcam so we can skype as soon as he gets his modem hooked up.
Have to share some scouting news.....my 13 yr old Life Scout got asked by the newly elected SPL to be his ASPL. He is so excited and when I told Gerry about it, he said " I taught him well didn't I? " LOL
