Sandy & JR...this is a prayer that we mom's sent around when our sailors were going through Battlestations 21 and lighting our blue candles. Let us know when you get the phone calls! We are so proud of your sons also! Please feel free to share this with other moms in your groups!

Dear Lord as we the mother's and father's of new and soon to be sailors gather here tonight bless us with your unconditional love and give us the strength required to get through the following days. Protect our son's, daughter's, husband's and brother's as they complete this, the first leg of their journey, in the service of our country.

Take our worries from us and help us and guide us as we unite here one family in heart and soul.

In Jesus's Name
Amen

Liz, how is Ian doing in Florida? I'm sure he's doing fine! I don't know how long is A school is but will he go to fleet right after A school or does he continue onto C school? (if necessary)

Sandy, your troop ROCKS!!!! That's so awesome and I know your son appreciates it beyond belief! To have all that support from home really means alot! WOW, 12 more days, I remember that last year, I was packed and ready to hit it 2 weeks before PIR. What will your son's rate (job) be once he graduates bc and start A school? Christian is OS (Ops Specialist) but right now, for the next year, he's in security. He really loved the training for security, lots of contact stuff, reminded him of football work outs. Well at least he's not in the galley for 3 months doing dishes, yes, all sailors will have to do jobs other then their rates when they go to the fleet for a while. Makes them appreciate their job later on I think, but our boys are Eagles so they know to be prepared. Keep us posted on when his Battlestations 21 will be. I have a prayer that we sent around last year for our boys, I'll be glad to post it when your son goes through, let me know. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Dee- sorry just seeing this now. To thick is when you need more postage. LOL pretty much my letters took 2 stamps. I was sending him up dates on the draft and other stuff.

Yes they are...LOL. He was trying to give them away when I asked them to stand still for the pic. Only 12 more days and I get to put my arms around him....can't wait.
Our troop has been awesome. One of the mom's brings in a card every weekly meeting and the boys(about 80 of them) get to sign it, write encouraging words for my SR. He loves the cards. Said he misses the troop and his friends, who has been friends since tigers.

Are those breakfast burittos in his hands? Great picture! Thanks for sharing! I have a cute picture of Christian when he just crossed over and his brother was still in cub scouts...seems so long ago, yet it was just like yesterday.
