Isn't it great being a Navy mom? We have such a wonderful extended family now. I'm loving this!

Deemedic- I sent a plastic frame with about 4 photos it was the 4X5 size and my sailor said it was fine to have. He stuck it in his bunk drawer) He also told me to stop sending thick mail to him because he had to open that in front of others. I picked up a couple of cards and offered to let me coworkers sign it. Ask your sailor if any of his buds aren't getting mail. I sent cards from my coworkers to them too.

Dee - we went to DC in June....3rd trip. Was up there in 2004 for dedication of WWll Memorial with my husband's grandfather who served and will be 92 in Sept. One of my favorite places in DC. Makes me proud my son is serving. Gives you a whole new outlook.
Happy to hear your Dad is home and you were able to have a great conservation with him. Those are very precious moments!!! Your are in my prayers!!

dee, get in touch with your recruiter. He can get an address for you and if it's different then what will be on the form letter you'll receive next week or so it's o.k. your mail will be forwarded....start sending letters now!!!! When Christian was in bootcamp I started the day he left and when he finally got mail he had like 8 letters from me...hahaha..but they love it because going from instant communication to snail mail is a HUGE adjustment and they will cherrish letters from home. Also send your son sports updates, his favorite baseball team info for example. They don't get the news on a daily basis, they get drills, and more drills....it's bootcamp. But seriously, contact your sons recruiter, he can get you an address.

Dee, I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbor too. I read earlier about your father. That is a Hard Decision! Hang in there, we are all praying for them.

Dee, I'm sorry about your neighbor and your dad, it was probably best that you didn't tell Matt as he'd worry too and he'll have enough on his plate. I will keep both in prayers but glad your dad is stable. I hope he recovers quickly! When you do get that phone call saying he made it to bc o.k. be sure to tell him I LOVE YOU! He won't be getting any sleep for the next 3 days....
JR...glad you got a phone call. It was probably really short, but could you already tell a difference in his voice? And yes he knows how it made your day because it made his day 1000 times better to talk to you! Mine is headed back out for more sea trials this week, he'll be gone for a while this time. Then when he gets back into port his girlfriend and her sister are heading down for a birthday weekend celebration. Both of them can't wait! It'll be his girlfriends birthday so he has something special in the works I'm sure. Then we get ready for a port change and he'll get to come home for a few days!
