Welcome to the group! So I'm thinking that your Eagle is now in the Navy. What does he do? All mom's can respond to this question if you'd like. I'm so glad for scouting, it helps the boys plan out and acheive goals, perfect for what the Navy will require....follow rules, work hard, earn higher rank. Love scouting, it's a HUGE part of our family.

I've been to only 4 Eagle Scout ceremonies...None of them were the same. That's so cool Jean, I love Eagle Scout Court of Honor. My son was really active in Order of Arrow so his Eagle COH was OA based. The boys did an awesome job in their regailla, no dancing, but the ceremony was superb! My younger son is also very active in OA and wants to have same type of ceremony for his Eagle COH, we're so close, his eye is on the prize!

DD...it's a battle worth the fight! Have him earn his Arrow of Light, it's kind of like getting his Eagle Scout for cub scouts, not all Weblo II earn it. Set the goal, watch him work hard for it, it'll bring him much pride as well as you getting to watch him grow! BTW, thanks to both you and your fiance for your service and God Bless you and your family.

He just completed Weblos I. He won't crossover until next year! We did the balancing act this year, with cub scouts and football and 2 girls who dance, swim and are cheerleaders! It helps that my fiance and I are both in the miltary so we can relate to a lot of the things he has to do and are able to offer more support. Thanks for all the good info!!!

Oh yeah, I forgot to say...it's the one year anniversary of my son having his Eagle Scout Board of Review.....this time last year we were sitting on pins and needles waiting for the news if he passed or not.....what a wonderful memory.

DD, did your son earn his Arrow of Light for Weblo II? Congrats on his crossover!

DD, both you and your husband need to stay active with the troop as well as your son. Become committee members, your husband may think about being an Asst. Scout Master, but encourage your son to KEEP UP THE WORK TO REACH EAGLE. If you crossed over into a good troop, which I'm sure you did, get active along with your son. Yes, the boys get the fancy medal, patch, but let me tell you one thing is fact, and you will hear this all the time....the boy doesn't reach Eagle Scout by himself, he has a lot of support from his family, and that's what scouting is all about! I thought my son's Eagle Scout project was too much for him to handle, but he really surprised me and did it! Scouting is so much fun, you'll enjoy it, your son will love it more when he sees that his family is behind him on this journey. BTW, my son also played football all 4 years in high school and wrestled since 6th grade, so there's room for other things besides scouting. My younger son is now at Life Scout, 3 more Eagle required merit badges and his project away, and he swims, it's a balancing act for sure. Welcome to the group, we are here to answer any questions you may have to help your son someday become an Eagle, it's tough at times, but the rewards are worth it. Just remember to HAVE FUN!!!!

it is kind of hard due to the boys not being motivated bythemselves and plus they have so much more after school activties that scouts go by the way side.
the parents need to be on the all the time to get it done.
Tell the boys do not wait until they are 17 and half to get it done.
it is too late.
take care

My son is only 10 and just earned his Weblos badge. Not an Eagle Scout yet...One day!!! I'm still really proud! How difficult is the road to becoming an Eagle Scout?
