Smeesmom, your son is also on Nimitz correct?  Yes homecoming is gong to be quite impressive, seeing those sailors in their dress uniforms manning the rails.  This is my first homecoming.  My husband is going to join the TC from San Diego, I'm flying up to WA to stay with our daughter in law and greet the ship home.  I'm very excited to say the very least!  We should try and meet, I know it's going to be a whirl wind like PIR weekend, but would love to meet.  My cell is (530) 383-6216 and it'll be charged and on my person.  Have a great day!

Mine should also be home in about 6-7 weeks. Is yours on a ship? I'm planning on being there when my son's ship comes in, I think it'll be impressive with the sailors manning the rails in their dress whites. It'll be nice to be able to talk with him more often.

Been kind of quiet around here.  So what is everyone's sailor up to these days?  Mine is on his way home from deployment.  6 more Sundays!  YEAH!!!

Am so very sad, have to cancel our 4th of July bbq/firework viewing party because of the expected 107 temps!  Please God, turn on your cooling delta breezes and give us in the Nor Cal valley some much needed relief!

I'm sorry for not being very active here lately.  We all know that life happens, but I see some new moms to the group~~welcome!

My oldest son, Christian, also my sailor, had the Order of the Arrow COH, it was awesome and that was 4 years ago.  He's and Ops Specialist 2nd Class PO and just re-enlisted for another 6 years.  My youngest, Jordan, didn't want a fancy COH so his troop honored him at their troop COH.  He's a college student now at local CC and works part time.

Feel free to post pictures of your sons anytime!  God bless our sailors, God bless ALL Navy families.

It's funny we (parents) swear we won't let out boys wait till almost 18 to complete their Eagle req. but of course, life happens.  After earning Life at 14 he did not get his project done until a month before he turned 18.  Like you calbransmommy he did not have his BOR until about a week after he turned 18.  I'm just glad that he did it.  Between Boy Scouts, H.S. Football & ROTC he has been very busy for the last few years.

Congratulations to him and your family. My son followed the same course and will have served three years this coming December. Because of his Eagle Scout head start and a rating with some openings, he recently was promoted to Petty Officer 2nd Class, E-5. The Eagle Scout advantage really pays off.

Mine did not want the traditional Eagle COH & since we have until Decembet he will be honored at the troop COH. He will be nuke, what is yours doing now?

I see this group doesn't have much activity but I wanted to post. My son just became an Eagle Scout, graduated from High School and turned 18 earlier this month. He will leave for BC on December 10. I am very proud! This is one exciting year for our family

Brand new to the Navy (sort of) but familiar with the military. (Army). I had a fantastic weekend. I needed to fly back Saturday PM for another graduation Sunday (3 graduations in 2 states over 2 weeks....I was tired a bit). But seeing my son more than made up for it. Mine lost a little weight, but he hopes to gain it back.  Glad your group ended up turning out well. k
