Cal- I need the info again I'm a dizzy mom this month. Sorry.
On a side note very sad news brewing with the Greater Cleveland Scout Council. (my boys council) The council was gifted a long time ago a camp in Canada it's called Tinnerman. Well Council let this summer pass by with no campers and next summer is looking even bleaker. They want to sell off Tinnerman. THis is going to board on the 20th of Sept. At the meeting Monday they sadi it's a vivable camp but needs about $150,000 investment in it. (which they have the money for) and theu told us the options Council is looking at. Do the upgrade Canada EPA required stuff or sell it and hope to be able to lease thru the new owner. When we asked the appraisal amount of the property they said they were sure of it. and then on Tuesday we get wind a potential buyer was looking at it TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just so mad. so feel the back door was kicked in. and they are wearing dancing shoes.
IF any of your kids went to TInnerman could ya do me a favor and drop a note to Ginny Sweet c/o Greater Cleveland Council. She is looking to show council that Tinnerman touches more then just Greater Cleveland Council. The address can be found here at this website. http://www.gccbsa.org/ Please don't fax it over I beleive since GInny doesn't work at Council full time they would trash the leters so she would not have them to present.
My sailor didn't grow up in boot camp my sailor grew up because of scouting. His time as a guide on the river opened his eyes to what there is around. He life is forever touched. I;m really bumming because my sailor posted a few weeks back that he knows where he wants to return to one day from all the places he's been. It's the French River.
Just got it today. Thanks. Yup mail from anyone helps get them thru the BC.
Calbransmommy, that is great. The RDCs never commented on anything about my son's eagle award. The only thing it has earned him was his rank.
Yesterday the 1 year anniversary of his heading for BC.
Yes and earned. So happy for you and him. PM his info to me. I'll send him a note from me and my co workers. did it for a guy when my son was in BC. He ended up with a bunch of letters. My cousin in Florida wrote talking her dog. When we met the young man he thanked me and asked that I tell my cousin thank you too. I am still in touch with him. I call him Sonny which is not his name at all. LOL
YEAH for Calvin! I agree with Christine's comment. I would like the info to contact this district person who wont take 5 minutes to sign off on a letter stating he has earned Eagle. I'm annoyed at that. Yes we know the Natiional level has to award it but come on. I think a fax letter to National by Calvin is in order. seeing as he earned it and the you don't want a loop hole to cost him his rate.
My # 3 life scout is starting to drag his feet only 23 months til he;s 18 we all know it comes fast.
Congratulations to Calvin and the entire family. We all know that it's not just the young man that earns the Eagle Scout, he gets the title and all the benefits that go with it, but it's the entire family that supports, loves and aids the scout on his journey and allows him to spread his wings and fly! We are hoping that Jordan gets his EBOR by this month's end if not, by mid August for sure. Again, congratulations! It's very nerve racking especially if it's your first one and you don't know exactly what to expect, but even with my second one it's nerve racking because we now know what needs to be done prior and hope we didn't forget anything....hahaha...scouting way to keep us on our toes!
