Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I cant wait. he says there are a few overs from Arizona that is in his division. The only negative he has is that it is cold there, but that is because he is an Arizona boy and not use to the cold.

After he signed his contract, they allowed us to accompanying the recruits to the airport to see them off. I was very appreciative of that. Thanks for asking.

We had a bonus guest, Commander Darryl Toppin, Commanding Officer, Navy Recruiting Office Phoenix. He answered questions and added so much to our get-together. I'm so impressed that he took time on a Saturday to join us, so thanks Cmdr Toppin!

Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on October 1, 2010 at 9:55pm: Hi Everyone. I am new to this site. My son left for BC on Sept. 13. His PIR date is 11/5. We live in North Phoenix, Cave Creek Rd. north of the 101. Would love to connect to other moms in the area.
Some of you are further along this process than we are so hopefully you have some good advise.
