Hi,
I just started coming on to the page and looking through the differnet groups out there. My boyfriend is in bootcamp right now. His PIR is June 18th! I can't wait to see him! After that he is going to be in A school to be a Corpsman. I live in AZ but willing to move after we find out where he will be stationed! Hope all of you are having a great day!

Congratulations Carrie, great news for your daughter!

Joan - Corps School ({"A" school for corpsmen) is 14 weeks long. After graduation (and hopefully you can go!) they either go on to a "C" school of their choosing, or to their first duty station, or to more training with Field Medical Training Battalion at Camp Lejeune, NC or Camp Pendleton, CA.
There may be a gap between bootcamp graduation and the start of A school, as they wait for enough to 'class up,' in which case he'll be on hold in Great Lakes for what could be a few weeks.
A good group for you right now is http://www.navyformoms.com/group/sailorsinaschoolforcorpsmen , and closer to A school graduation http://www.navyformoms.com/group/corpsmanmomsanddads (a very fun group to join now, just keep in mind these are moms of corpsmen already serving, so questions about A school are better found in the first group).

Only eight days left in this funding cycle to vote for Molly's Adopt a Sailor program at the Pepsi Refresh Program - http://www.refresheverything.com/search/?q=adopt+a+sailor
It's a fun group of 600+ you can join on N4M. They adopt a ship or unit each month and flood them with care packages, great project to get involved with http://www.navyformoms.com/group/mollysadoptasailorproject

Happy Mother's Day to all.

We got an "early" gift of sorts. Our son told us he is now engaged, but no date set. I am happy for him & do like the young lady. I was surprised, in a way, as I expected this, but not quite so soon. I guess none of us are ready for this when it happens. His young lady doesn't have much of a mom, so I hope I can be there for her when she needs it.

I got back from Tampa, FL yesterday from training for my new job. They were going to Fed Ex all my stuff. Guess what? i got a call from Fed Ex. The office put the wrong address on all 4 boxes. i have to go pick up the stuff. But, i can't go until the phone guy gets here to put in the business line. this whole thing has been a comedy of error! Am I having fun yet?
