Hey guess what - Admiral Scott Sanders is coming back to Phoenix, and had such a great time meeting Navy moms (and dads and sailors) last time he wants to do it again!

Here's the deal - We've arranged a very special behind-the-scenes tour of the Phoenix Suns and US Airways Arena, and RADM Sanders will talk with us, give us an update on what the Navy is up to, answer questions, etc.  This is SUCH a special opportunity as admirals don't come here very often, much less ask to meet with US!  And he is such a great person and amazing speaker.  The tour details are being finalized and I'll have more soon, but plan on having a great AZ NAVY MOM MEET-UP WITH THE ADMIRAL 1:30 pm Sunday, March 17th!!!

I enjoyed it too.  We definitely will need to plan another one

Sorry you couldn't make it Carrie.  I did see your first post before I went so knew you weren't going to make it.  Hope your daughter is o.k.  My daughter had that happen about 3 years ago.  Had two infected puncture wounds from the cat.  Long story.

Lunch was fun.  there were 3 of us, me, Dawn and Diane.  Was nice getting together and chatting and just relaxing a little with other Navy moms.  Definately lets do it again soon.

I'll be there - maybe hubby too - he's "on call" starting Thursday.  His coming will depend on how busy he may be.  Looking forward to seeing & meeting everyone

Sounds good to me, Pita Jungle at 11 on Saturday.  For those who aren't familiar, it's set back from the street, Tatum, so you can't really see it.  Turn left at that light, which is the one that is the main entrance to Desert Ridge (if you turn right at the light you go into Desert Ridge, so turn left instead), then turn left into the big medical complex there.  I believe there is a US Bank at the front of it. Go to the back area where there is a row of restaurants and businesses.

I would love to meet up on the 7th. let me know when and where, I am in Glendale, I have heard from my son, he has called me and is doing well. He said it is cold where he is, he is normally station in San Diego. I hope everyone is doing well.

Oooo...I think it is time for a Pinal County moms throwdown! Anybody from Pinal County up for that??

Comment by Diane1954 on March 19, 2012 at 4:15pm

Is there some other place to go?  I "hate" going to Desert Ridge -- the parking stinks & I can never find anything over there

Comment by Diane1954 on March 18, 2012 at 2:25pm

At this point, it looks good for me.  Spouses too. Diana in AZ - I know how hard it is when your son is on deployment.  If you're not getting e-mails it's probably because they are in an area where there is a communications black-out.  Just remember - no news is good news
