Would love to come tonight, however, with it being in the East Valley and in the middle of the week, there's no way.  Can you try to plan something like this at a more central location and on the weekend?

* WEDNESDAY 7/13 MEET & GREET! * The Islamorada Fish Company restaurant in the Bass Pro Shop in Mesa, 6 - 9 pm - 1133 N. Dobson Rd., in the Mesa Riverview center, near the 101/202 interchange (that's the Red Mountain-North 202 by the way).  Here's the restaurant menu and a pic of the interior - the centerpiece is a huge aquarium.  We can also tour the private-event "Fine Gun Room" upstairs that will be the locale for the the August 7th party to meet RADM Sanders.  Map and directions Hope to see you Wednesday!

We have a party to plan!

Rear Admiral Scott Sanders, deputy commander for US Navy Second Fleet is coming to Arizona and wants to meet US!  He is also mentor to NOSC Phoenix and has asked to meet with Navy and military moms when he visits Arizona for two days next month.

The Executive Officer of Navy Operational Support Center Phoenix has asked me to organize the event for RADM Sanders, and the 'military moms' of the East Valley chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America have happily agreed to join us, so it's a good opportunity to meet them too :)

The event will be a pot luck at the Bass Pro Shop near the 101 and 202 intersection in Mesa. They have a beautiful meeting room that looks like Ernest Hemingway's library, where honorees have included a former Vice President, and they have offered it at no cost.  RADM Sanders will be coming from the 1:10 pm Diamondbacks game where he is scheduled to throw out the first pitch, so our event will be from 5 - 8 pm.  My email is marcy@marcyscott.com, cell 602-369-6900 - help!! :) Let's show the Navy how great its Arizona Navy Moms are.

Stacey:  Congrats on your son's upcoming graduation.  Our #2 son will be graduating 7/8.  We also will be going to his.  I think as far as atttending A school graduation really depends on your son - whether or not he wants you to come.  We haven't gotten that far with our son.  Some mom's say yes go, others say no.  Talk to your son & do what he wants.

Hi Marcy,

Thank you for the welcome.  Yes, I will be attending BC graduation, I leave this Thursday.  He will be in A school for 17 weeks so I'm hoping to make a couple of trips to visit on weekends. Did you attend A school graduation?  I've found mixed comments about attending.

Welcome & congratulations Stacey! My son's A school was at GL too and he enjoyed being able to take the train into Chicago on weekends & seeing the sights. How great your son will be there in warm weather, too :) Are you able to attend his graduation?

Hi Everyone,  My son graduates from BC this Friday, 6-10.  He will spend 17 weeks at A school in Great Lakes training to be a Hull Tech.

We got our first letters from #2 son from BC.  He is in a 900 division & in the color guard.  He will be carrying the US flag in the 100th anniversary PIR.  That is really awesome!!!

We're still waiting for that first "real" letter.  Since it didn't come this week, expect it will next week.  It's a little easier the 2nd time around.  Miss him a lot - so does his cat.  She is all over me every morning - while I am trying to work.  She jumps on my desk & wants to be "loved."
