Hi Shara.  I am sort of in north Phoenix - just south of the 101 & 7th st.  I have one son in Bremerton & one going to BC in May.  He enlisted in Milwaukee when he was in college & has finally gotten his courtesy ship approved, so he can leave from Phoenix.  Looking forward to meeting you at our next get together (whenever that is going to be).

Welcome Shara,

We are in Queen Creek and our son in San Diego. Loves the Navy and the schooling that he has gotten for free. He is a Corpsman. Enjoy the ride.

Hi everyone! I didn't know that there was a site for Phoenix families and am so happy I found this one! My sailor left today to go back to GL. We had a great time and I so miss him, but I'm thankful for the time we had together. Next time I see him will be when he graduates A school in the beginning of March! I'm glad to be on this site!

hi Britt -  my son likes it at Goose Creek in South Carolina.  He will finish A school at the first part of March.  He's been there since Nov. 11.  Says it's a really nice base.  Your bf should like it there.  Long days of classes and lots of PT, but manageable.  Good luck to him in bootcamp.  Write lots of letters of support as soon as you can.  They love mail and it helps so much.  Sorry he is there in the blistery winter time.  What a drastic change from Arizona.

My bf left for bc on the 13th. After that he will also be going to SC for Nuke school.

Kathy: My #2 son will be going to BC in may, then he will also be going to Nuke school.  Just think, we get to go to PIR in July - won't that be wonderful weather.  At least #1 son was done the first week in November.  The weather was chilly, but at least it wasn't snowy or hot & humid.

Hi Jaime,

i'd love to share that wonderful experience of PIR.

My son had his on Nov 5 and is now at Goose Creek, S.C. for Nuke school.  He is coming home to Phoenix this Saturday for 13 days.  He's definately looking forward to our warmer temps.  I guess it's been darn cold in South Carolina.

Hi all. We just had our son's PIR last Friday, the 5th. What a fantastic experience. Soooo glad that part of this journey is over. Would love to connect with other Phoenix area moms. Do any of you have a sailor at Nuke School? My son should have just gotten there yesterday. Would love to hear about your experiences thus far. Is there a get together any time soon?
