ebigirl-   My cub corpsman was able to come home after A school  He left the end of August to go to his present duty station.   He has not been home since.  He wants to come home in a couple of months.  Hopefully, he will be able to do so.

Yes time does fly.  I remember our boys being a BC a year ago.  Wow!

Sue, thank you for sharing your beautiful poem. I'm printing it as I type!

Happy Easter to all of you! The beauty of our group is that we are all in different "stages" of our child's (and our) Navy experience. I'm very lucky and admit very selfish that my son is at home. He is a Seabee in the Reserves, and could be deployed at any time.

Velvetlace, how long has it been since your cub was home? Was he able to come home after A school? I've been thinking of you today and remembering that at this time last year our boys were in bootcamp. Time sure flies!

Happy Easter to all the other Empty Nesters out there. Our youngest son is at GL right now and his older brother is away in Louisiana in school. Tough day but we are making it. This site is great for the support! :)

Sue-   What a beautiful prayer!!!

Tenn Navy Mom-   We heard from our Cub today.  He is well.  He has tonight off, and he had just woken up.  He is on night duty, 12 hour shifts.   I still do not know when he is coming home!

To all-   I played and sang at mass today, and I prayed for all my Navy moms, families, and their cubs that God would keep them safe from harm.

Happy and Blessed Easter to all of you!   Love you all!   <3

Thanks for the kind words Tenn Navy Mom. I'm so proud of my son and it's something he really wants to do, but this is tougher than I thought. The last letter I wrote to him I told him, "Expect the biggest hug of your life at PIR."

Thanks for sharing that prayer.  It's beautiful and so true.  Made me cry but everything makes me cry these days.  My daughter is in BC and I'm just trying to adjust to the my youngest and only daughter being in the Navy.  I'm so pround of her but I miss her terribly.  My son was in the Navy for 7 years so I was used to the long deployments but I had my younger children at home then.  Now it's the empty nest is just seems harder.  I will be praying for both you and your son on this long deployment.

Beautiful prayer Sue. Oh my, 18 months. My son is in Great lakes his PIR is 4/20. It's only been 6 weeks and I miss him so much. I'm hoping for a call today. Talking to other Navy Moms is a great help.

Treasured Memories:  Joshy years ago (around age 6) hunting for easter eggs at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  He ran around with his cousin gathering all the plastic eggs with a big grin.  After he was done, he held his easter bag and looked at me exasperated, gasping for breath from running around and said.... "whew, that bunny pooped out a lot of eggs!"  I laughed so hard I had to run to the bathroom to pee! But the kicker was when I got back..... he asked me if it hurt the bunny because of the plastic!!
