Welcome teresac66 and slapout52.  Our son is getting to his 4th year anniversary.

Welcome slapout52! My son was at RTC this time last year, and PIR'd 5/6/2011. He's my only and a Seabee in the Reserves. I haven't heard of any deployment plans for him yet, but you never know when the Navy will/might decide he is needed.

I'm glad you found us. Keep in touch.

Got a Sailor who is coming up on his one-year anniversary with the USN and is a few months from his first deployment. I am a brand new empty-nester, though. My #2 son, my Saolor's little brother, has been gone for nearly 2 months. He is at Ft. Benning in basic there for infantry. I will be looking at having 2 deployed before the end of 2012. Glad to d

Welcome Kim.  some days are better than others.  I keep busy with the site here called Molly's Adopt a Sailor.  We write cards, collect goodies, sew or tie die pillowcases--each month is a different mission.  Some months I'm a "one box" Mom, other times I coordinate smaller packing parties to keep busy.  You'll find your new normal.

Welcome Kim! Welcome to Navy4moms. What part of your child's Navy adventure are you at? My son was in bootcamp this time last year. He is a Reserve with the Seabees. We live in Washington State, and he drills with the Marines at Joint Base Lewis McChord (both Army and Marine) just south of Tacoma, WA.

My son is my only child, and I didn't want to do anything while he was in bc. We drove to Chicago for his PIR. Very long trip but very worth every mile.

Again, welcome to the emptynester group!

Hi I am a empty nester. I do really good most days although lately I haven't been wanting to do anything. Maybe its this dreary weather.

Tenn Navy Mom -

Good to hear from you!   I will need your ear when my Cub is finally deployed.  I am not looking forward to it, but I think it will happen anyway.    THat is a good thing to know that Head and SHoulders has multi-uses.

It is raining a lot here in Northern California.  We are under a flood watch.  We live 85 feet up from the ocean. so we are not in any danger.  However, if we want to travel anywhere else except our town, it may be tricky.   It goes without saying that when it rains, it pours especially where I live.

    Take care!

Hi, Meryl-

Welcome to our group.  It is wonderful to have another mom that is so caring!  All the ladies here are wonderful.   But don't tell them I told you!   It is a secret!  LOL

I live in Northern California, and my son is a corpsman in Florida.  I have not seen him since last August.  I never get used to the separation!

   Mary
