Mom of three- I know exactly what you mean! When my older two moved out (Im a mom of three, too!) I missed them, but it was a little different than now- at that time I still had more at home!! I had a hard time getting used to the quiet this time, and the fact that the nest is officially "empty". He WILL be fine, momma, actually you will be so proud and impressed at just how much he has grown up after a couple of months! Sending you hugs and prayers!  Keep us updated as you get news from him, ok??

Mom of Three-    When my son left for basic, I cried for two days, and I would cry about any little thing for several weeks.   I know how it feels; and it feels rotten.  The good news is that it will get better especially after you see your cub graduate at the PIR.   Hugs to you!

PeggyW-Thank you. I Just changed my user name to mom of three because I have twin daughters who left for the Navy 2 years ago. It took me awhile before i felt better. This time I thought I'd be a rock, but no such luck it's still hard. Even though I know he'll be ok. You know what I mean?

carols kitchen- Thanks for the welcome!!  mom of three-I totally understand that feeling! When my son left for OCS I was almost inconsolable, and I know this sounds trite but it does get better-- the first few weeks were the hardest for me, but I kept busy writing daily letters (which are your child's LIFELINE- very important to write frequently as you can!) and getting to know the family members of his class on our facebook page. Ask for help if you need and if you just need to "talk" we are all here to lend an ear to listen and a shoulder. also.Good luck to both of you!!!!

Tenn Navy Mom-

I sm hoping that your Cub gets home safe and sound from the sandbox!   I know that you are anxious to have him out of the sandbox.  I am hoping this war ends very soon, and all of our military personnel are sent home.

We are getting  a little more rain this week.  It is good to get rain.  I am planning on staying indoors today and getting some work done,    I have my Kiwanis meeting tomorrow morning, and I have the guest speaker.  I will work on a little introduction today for my guest speaker who happens to be a teacher but also a co-owner in an antique business.   He is excellent at refininshing and repairing antiques, and his wife is the business person who runs the business.  I am getting a small buffet from them after he refinishes it.   He has two small buffets or chiffoniers from England that need work.  I will pick one of those for sure.  I may take both of them if they do not ask too much for them.

Well, I hope you have a great week.  At church yesterday, I prayed for all of our Corpsman Cubs that God will keep them safe and bring them home to their families and friends.  Blessings to you!

Tenn Navy Mom-    It has been pretty nice weather the last couple of days with wonderful sunshine.  However, more rain is coming in for us on the north coast of California maybe by tomorrow and lasting through the week.   We have over 80 % or more, and the meterologists are saying we are up to our average normal.  Well, I think we will be going for 100%!   That is great!  I love the rain for it brings us water, green plants, and blue skies when it is over!

I hope you are doing fine with all the rain you are getting.  I love it when it rains for several days, and then we have sunshine!

I heard from my cub last weekend.  He is working very hard covering shifts for other corpsmen.   He said February coming home is not in the cards, but maybe he will be able to come home in May!   :)   Hopefully!!!

Take care and let me know how you are doing!!!

Keep your fingers crossed and hope we get to see our sailor for his birthday.  It will be the first time in 4 years we've celebrated his birthday in person.
