@Tenn Navy Mom- I am getting used to this new computer. When my old computer was running slower and not booting up all the time, I saved a lot of pictures and links to my aol email. That really saved me, big time! I was glad that I did not. I think as computers get older it is harder for them to run as new updates are loaded on them.
Yes, I did get a phone call from my Doc on Saturday afternoon. He said that he is tired, but well. He has been working other people's shifts and working 12 hour days. He is not coming home in February. He is thinking more May-June is when he will be able to come home. He is going to take the promotion test in March, and he wants to study for that! I am glad that he is so motivated. I sure do miss him, but he has to live his own life. I am always there for him to help him. He needs another pair of his running shoes, so I will send him another box in early February with that and some goodies. He is such a health nut that he wants only granola bars etc.
Sorry to hear about the active tornadic activity for your part of the USA. We live with earthquakes and their threat, but I just love the California coastline!
Take care! Mary
Good morning, everyone! The sun is shining here on the north coast of California....but not for long. There is a new storm coming our way! Zippity doo dah, dippity day! Oh, well. It is definintely good coffee weather!
I got a new laptop, and it is a fine machine. I miss my old laptop. It was Navy Blue!
Mary
Tenn Navy Mom- Well, we haven't floated away yet, but it has been windy and rainy. I think we are getting finally caught up with our average rainfall.
My little laptop computer went to computer heaven. It had been dying the last couple of weeks, so I was prepared with a new laptop and had sent links in email to myself. So glad that I did. I have been working all afternoon on getting my new computer up and running.
You take care, and try not to float away!
Thank you! My son is a Depper (graduates high school in June) and ships out in August, although he's trying to get his rate changed, which could move his ship date. We're hoping to hear soon what his new rate will be. I am also a widow and raised him alone for the past 14 years, so this is surreal to say the least.
Welcome Hannah88
My front yard looks like seagull haven. There are several dozen seagulls eating worms in the yard. I think the storm has brought them ashore to seek refuge and sustanance. It has been raining for 2 days, and we will be having more probably for at least 5 days more. I am happy that maybe our mountains will get a good snowpack for the spring, summer, and fall! I hope everyone is having a good day!
Mary
Tenn Navy Mom- My son hated GL, too. He said it was way too cold for him. He liked SA and loves FLA. He is near the ocean in JAX so he is happy. I know that he is busy. Camp Lejune is near where my brother and sister-in-law live. They were both Marine officers. Now they are living in Morehead City, NC. They love NC. I left a message on my cub's facebook page that ET says, "Call home." Hopefully, he will call! Have a wonderful homecoming from your cub. Mary
Tenn Navy Mom-
We live about 6 hours from San Francisco where there is a Chinatown. We live about 12 miles north of Eureka overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In our area, there are lots of redwood trees and the ocean.
I have not been able to talk to my cub recently. He seems to be very busy these days. Oh, well....I have to remember when I was 22. It is normal.
Daysleeper- I am so glad that your are feeling better and your husband is on the mend! Yeah!!!!
It is super that your DIL got a job. You are full of good news today. I am sure that you are glad that good things are happening now after going through all that you have gone through recently. It is the rainbow after the storm! Hugs! Mary
Tenn Mom-
Sorry to hear that your son is still in the sandbox. I am praying that this was will end soon, and our cubs will be out of harm's way. I will wait for news of a joyful homecoming soon! Hugs and prayers!
