Daysleeper-
Wow! I had no idea that a pressure cooker could be a dangerous weapon! HA! :) I have a pressure cooker that I have not used yet, so I need to make a stew or something in it soon. I bought it over a year ago, so it is time to use it! Any suggestions of what I could cook besides stew?
Daysleeper-
Thank you so much! I hope your Christmas was joyous and that you have a very Happy New Year!
Daysleeper- Well today, I played my accordion fro 4 hours outside our local KMart for Kiwanis and the Salvation Army. I had 4 Key Club members out with me, my husband, and another member of our Kiwanis. It was so much fun. The kettle was full within 3 hours, and people had to push hard to get more money in. I had a lady stop by and tell me she wanted to hire me for her Yule Party. I have never played for money for myself before. I have just always played at church, school, or community functions. I am not sure how I feel about playing for money. I just play my accordion because it brings others and me joy! Merry Christmas to all!!!!
Mary from Northern California
Daysleeper- Everything that you said is true. I have been keeping busy with community activities and that has helped a lot. I had about 50 people over from my Kiwanis club last night for a Christmas potluck It was a lot of fun. Keeping busy is the key, but I still miss my corpsman! God bless you and Happy Christmas.
Mary
Daysleeper- I am so sorry that you too have to experience your cub not being home for Christmas yet again. I wish the Afghanistan war would end very soon. I will pray that all of our cubs come home safely to us.
Mary
Tenn NAvy Mom- I will say prayers that both of our cubs will be home next Christmas happy and healthy! Mine has not been deployed yet, but I know it could be coming soon. It is awful since he is my only child just like you! I guess we need to stay strong together. God bless you!
Mary
TennMom- I understand how it is hard to get into the Christmas spirit this year. My son is in the states, but he is thousands of miles away, and he will not be able to come home for Christmas. I would feel worse if he was in the sand box. I still will miss him terribly. This will be the first Christmas that he has not been home. I guess I had better get used to it. We put up a tree since my Kiwanis group is coming over for the annual Christmas potluck at our house. However the only celebrating I will do on Christmas is playing and singing at mass on Christmas Day. I think my husband and I might go out to eat. I do not feel much like cooking. Let us home that both are corpsman sons are home for Christmas next year. God bless you!
Yeah, a half day off today. Can finally get my hair highlighted and cut. Turns out just in time, too. Hubby got plane tickets to go see the sailor in a couple of weeks.
So, do any of the pix take you back to times better left....behind?
