Wow, GO USS Bainbridge!! Never heard the news yet, thanks for sharing the info. Have fun working on the afghan Joni! I used to crochet hats for the homeless. I should try to find that pattern and crochet hats for sailors especially for next winter..

Maybe I've asked you already but are you in the group for sailors in p'cola Brenda? Yes, I do like that one down below too Brenda. Sometimes I think i look like the brown haired girly in the mornings...LOL!

I love birdies! Thanks for the pic comments again.

Joni & Brenda,
My son has about 18 days for leave this time but it's normally 12-14 days. I can't wait!! I guess it's different for everybody depending on what your sailor's situation is.

When did your son graduate from PIR Brenda? I can't remember how long after PIR when we had received our dvd. Maybe within a couple months time.

Thanks for the pic comment!

Have a great day ladies!

I love 'putting both feet in stupid'. Thank you! I am known in the family as the 'Portugee Man of War'; not only for my quick temper but my energy and loyalty to my family. It get's me into trouble quite often.
Ladies, I don't know a hurt so deep as a mother's heart hurts. This is a GREAT place for you to be. Learn what they are doing and ask questions. Feel confident that the people here are walking right beside you, and most as they read your posts are holding you in their thoughts and prayers-recognizing where they have been just as where you are.
My sailor has won the award for super glue on communication. Some day, he will figure it out-then I'll have my turn and heaven help him - maybe my temper will have mellowed by then.~s

I just wanted to drop a note of THANKS to all of you! The four hours stress test went well for my husband (Dan). We will know the results of the pictures of his heart in a few days. My angel blessings to each of you~s
Thank you for asking about Brianna. As far as we know she is recovering. Very scary for us especially when we can't be there to try to be of help. However, it is very reassuring that they have a 'strong group of friends' for support (the ombudsman told me this in an e-mail). We won't bother them with calling or e-mail to respect our dil's request; and also to give them all the chance to relax, rest and recourperate when they can. Our sailor is still deployed, so I am sure this is very hard on our dil.
Owen's trip on the USS Hornet with the Scouts was AWESOME! Great for Pa and him to do. ~s

Good Morning:
Well, the doc said that the spot on Dan's lung had not changed in two years - so no worries; and he is good with that. Thank you for your prayers. Monday he has the four hour test in Sacramento. Then maybe things will settle back down. Thank you all! My angel blessings~s

Hi Everybody: I know that this may be early - but our computer is a little cranky - we would appreciate prayers for our Brianna. She is 14 months old, and will have her cleft pallet surgery next Tuesday - the 10th. Thanks - my angel blessings ~~S {her Oma}
Vicki, my heat is sad for you for your loss of your kitty. Hang in there, and have some peace that you were a wonderful person for kitty. Our pets give us so very much - my angel blessings to you~s

Hi Vicki: You are in my prayers! None of us are perfect - well, I'm not - and glad of it! I have learned a lot here, and a lot of what you have said resonates with me. Our sailor has been in six years - and I know next to nothing. I just found the site a couple of month's ago. It does help to read here - I am trying to find a ship's news letter, etc. Maybe you can too. Do you know about one? Your Ombudsman will know. They have a site here -Meg and Regina are AWESOME! We are no where near where our sailor is - and have next to no communciation. I pray an intecessory prayer every day for his family - the they will accept whomever God sends into their lives. It helps my heart.~ you are in my prayers~s

Vicki, just come on in here and vent, you are one strong 'cookie' . And how do I know? Because you raised a spendid sailor, and the love for him and the Navy shows. I will be having deployment issues upcoming, so I know I am not looking forward to it either. But....I have N4M! What do my sailors have? I guess about a couple hundred fellow crewmates! I feel for you, really I do. So just come on back when the tears let up a bit so you can see, or even if they don't. We have ears to hear, shoulders to lean on.... :0{
