Speaking of not letting families know what is going on. I know of another mom whose son failed his final PFA run by 20 seconds. Her son called her to tell her that he would not graduating with his division. Those were the last words she heard from her son. She was very upset. She called Public Relations crying. There was a very nice gentleman at the other end of the phone. She told him that her son had called her the previous day with the news that he would not be graduating. She said that she did not have his new address and needed it so that she could write to him. She was bawling her head off saying that all she wanted to do was let him know that she loved him. She wanted to be know where he was. The PR officer said; Mam, Mam, please don't cry. If you give me your SR name I will see what is going on. She said: No, if I tell you his name then he might be picked on by the RDCs. PR officer, No mam, that will not happen. We don't do that here. I need his name so that I can find out where he is. She finally gave him his name. The PR officer called her back with his address and told her that he had passed his run and will be doing BS with another division. She told me that she just totally cried her eyes out and that the PR officer said: Mam, do you think we spend all this time and money on your SR for him not to pass?
Sandy, I think it is how you said. They want them to pass.
Sandy(former), thank you for the daily break down, sounds like they are looking after them and as long as the SR's haven't given up then they will succeed.
Sandy's (sailors son), I totally agree with you! you have been talking with me the past few days, you know the uncertainty and no communication is what's getting to me...I could have used a call from RTC, they don't have to let Jon call but it would be a saving grace for families if they let us know the goals and where out SR stand in the whole scheme of things..And they would only have to call once..
