Thank you for all the information, it amazes me how the Navy tells loved ones one thing and actually does another! My husband is ex Navy and the way they do things now is totally different then when he was there, and it's driving him nuts too! and like I told a friend of mine last night, it's hard to shake him..

I wish the people in charge of FIT would keep families informed on what is going on with their SR. Yes, I realize that they are technically in boot camp but still. They must value them as future Sailors otherwise I doubt that they would waste their time trying to help them pass.

Thats good to know that they are getting one on one help in FIT, I was wondering what happens to them while they are in there, my son made it sound like they were just thrown in there to sink or swim on their own, and probably thats what it felt like the 1st couple of days, he is a very level headed 19 year old and can usually roll with the punches, but he was nervous about this change and his demeaner was very concerning to us,and the same goes for the other 2 that were suppose to graduate with them..

So since I have not heard from him since Sat doesn't necessarily mean he has not passed the run or Battle Stations yet? The whole 8 weeks we heard next to nothing from him via phone calls, he got the 1st one " I'm here call", then another one about 4 weeks later and that was for only 3 min. then NOTHING until 2 days before PIR when he called and said he did not pass the final PFA. Of course we got the weekly letters, but he didn't write much on them, just mostly on the first few about how lonely he was, but nothing about not passing anything, infact he said he was passing everything just fine. So I am assuming it was just his last PFA that has knocked him for a loop.

Hello Ladies. My son's PIR was 8/6/10.  He can very close to not passing his PFA because of not being able to run fast enough. He had failed his second PFA by 20 seconds. We got the dreaded call by our SR, Chief in tow. Of course I was a nervous wreck. My heart was breaking because my son was going through hell.  20 lbs later and a few gray hairs, my son did pass his Final PFA and graduated with his division.

When my son went to (A)school in GL he was put on Mandatory PT. He was required to run 3 miles, 3 times a week. Now he runs for 10 miles a week. I never would have thought my son could do that. He had such a hard time with running in boot camp.

I had no idea that the FIT program existed. I just thought that if you failed your final PFA you just got ASMOED and lived happily ever after with another division until you passed.  So, I want to learn more about how things work in the FIT program so that I can help others who's son's/daughters are struggling.
