That is so true, my daughter took almost a month to pass the run but she did it! She loved getting the mail from home with encouragement! I can say this was hard on me as a mother but I lived thru it and got to spend a lot more time with her when she passed A school!

Hi everyone. Even though our SRs didn't make it to their PIR, we must continue to encourage them and lift their spirits. They can and will succeed!!!

My heart is heavy as well, but I'm trusting and believing my SR will pass her swim test before the deadline. I really wanted to see her, even if it was for a short time. I'm going to continue to encourage her to fight on.

there is. pir isn't all ppl make it out to be. you see your sailor for such a small time after much effort to get there. so don't dwell on it. the sailors are happy to miss it. instead make plans to visit at A school when he's got much more time to visit with you. when he does pass, tell him to go right to the nex and buy a "go phone" and you'll be so much happier. he will pass. no fears.

well today was the last day my SR could pass his swim to go to PIR on time :(

I'm feeling very drained and defeated. It hurts my heart knowing that he didn't pass in time. I know he was so confident that he would pass in time to se me at PIR :(

This is so frustrating. I wish there was something I could do for him :/

My son was moved to FIT the 4th (Monday before PIR). He called on Friday the 15th, so he was there around 10 days. Now waiting for the I'm a sailor call.
When he took the PFA the first time at the beginning of boot camp, he was over 18 minutrs. At the second test, he was still over 15 minutes. On the "final" test on 12/30, he was still around 14:30, so still over by 2nd minutes. Retested on 1/4 and missed by 10 seconds. That is when he was moved to FIT. In FIT, he tested on the 6th the 8th, skipped the 11th, tested on the 13th and then passed on the 15th.

bibi, every other weekend as long as the divisions behavior is good. they can lose a call if ppl mess up.
Comment by BIBI31 on January 18, 2016 at 12:28am

how often are they allowed to make calls when they are in FIT?
