my son was in fit for 3 weeks. no calls, only letters. write daily. encourage him. once it's done it's fast forgotten. boot camp wants everyone coming in to be able to pass the fitness tests upon arrival. they don't really care to mess with ppl in fit.... hence they poor information flow. but.... this too shall pass.

Still no news, no calls, no letters, nothing. It has been a week a little concerned. I do not cry as much for my son these days. I get more angry at what was told us is not the reality. Finding out through the grapevine things that make me want to have a sit down with SECNAV. This is out of my hands and in God`s hands. I now know that the blue candle will be lit for all sailors from here on out. Have peaceful seas everyone.

Thank you CarolR, I'll be praying for you and your son that this delay is short lived.  After my son had been in FIT for a few days, he found that there were some pretty cool RDCs.  Raising/maintaining motivation seems to be a priority for them so our FIT recruits are given "special" rewards when the division is behaving including books and the occasional movie.  ~hang in there, this too shall pass.

he won't lose his school. he'll fall into the routine. swim when they swim, run when they run. they pass the swim fast, and 20 seconds off the run won't take long either.

Congratulations 2ndtimearound on your sailor passing BS21.

So what do they do the first day they are in FIT. How long before they actually start testing again. I am hoping that he can knock this out quickly and get out of there, so he does not loose his school.

the holidays really do mess up the routine. they won't test on the holiday, so they will probably test 4 days this week for swimming. two, for the run. for my son fit was a very positive experience. hope that helps. sammy

With PIR today, holiday Thursday and not sure what they do first day in FIT since he was moved at approximately 7 or 8pm I'LL time. How many times would he get this week to overcome this.

oh, OK. well, imo, pir is for the parents anyway. lol. the sailors don't care.... as long as they graduate. (my son didn't get one either). make plans to see him at A school. that way you get more than a day, too!!! 20 seconds and the float won't take long. ;o)
