AMOm :-) I send you hugs and prayers. My SR passed on his very last day. I'm sorry she is getting discouraged. It must be so hard on them. I was worried my Sr was worried that he'd let us down if he didn't pass, which of course wouldn't have been the case. I feel for you both. The stress can be unbearable. Please keep the faith.
My SR last day to pass the run is 4/25. This is such a stressful time for me and her. She as been off between 11- 52 seconds. She suffered from shin splints and low iron a few weeks ago. She is very quiet on the phone. She does not write like she did in BC. I have mailed overnight encouraging letters. I told her how proud I am of her and all she has accomplished thus far. She really sounds like she is giving up. The hardest thing is we cannot talk to them but Sunday at 1pm CT. Her little brother said I should be a motivational speaker because all I do is try to encourage her to be strong, think about the reward, its mental over physical, everything. I have poured out everything. Praying every hour for her success. Yesterday I think there were 10 words spoken in the house after 5pm because we all were waiting for the phone to ring. This site and the FB page have helped BUT I just want her to get through this!
Hello my SR called just a bit of ago he passed his swim Hooyah.
will someone call to let me let me know because I will flying out on thur
good afternoon I'm so nervures right now because I don't if my SR passed his swim and don't anything if I need to cancel or just go to the PIR anyway
Barbara they call it chasing the bunny. What they do is pick someone who runs as fast or faster than the time they need to pass. They literally chase that person. Stay as close as they can, keep eyes usually on their shoes or some other item that identifies them. It helps because they stop watching the clock and the only goal is to catch the bunny! My daughter was lucky because her bunny had neon green shoes on, made it easier to watch. Some of them put a colored tie on an arm, just something that makes it easy for them to track. The bunnies are usually someone not in FIT but they come to run with them to motivate! We were very lucky to get to meet my daughters bunny, he was standing guard when we went to see her. I am sure he thought we were all crazy women when we were crying and telling him THANK YOU over and over again. And crying is a new thing for me also, but I did a lot of it while she was in fit and this site still brings tears to my eyes each and every time I read a post!
Barbara, He can shave it off his time! My daughter shaved 2 minutes from her hers, and she is not a runner. The closer they get to their "Last Try" the more the staff try and help. He seriously needs to pick a bunny to chase! Then he can just watch the shoes of the bunny and stay up or pass. So many of the SR said that is how they finally did it! It just broke my heart every time Lillian would call home and tell us her fears of not passing! We tried to stay upbeat on the phone, that was tough. The minute we got off I would start thinking of someway to make her laugh or make her mad! One day I sent her crazy pictures from all the law enforcement in the area driving her car, that made her laugh. Then I sent her job ads for her in town and that really pissed her off! We just wanted her to know we were proud of her and she would pass. It did work but she still swears if she did not have that bunny to chase she wouldn't have passed!! I will be praying for your SR to pass and all the rest in FIT! My SR turned 20 today, not being able to see her is ruff but I will survive. She had a T-shirt made that says, "I made it through FIT! Which means I can do anything, BRING IT ON!! She wears it to bed when she has a tough day and it does make her remember the challenges but also the pride of sticking to it and getting through!
