Decesions, decesions,

my boyfriend left on the 10th of July, we've recieved his box and hopefully will recieve his form letter soon. So, here is my question. I know that they may only have four people written down on their list to go. His sister was recently married so it will be her, her husband and his parents. I read that you can go to the visitor center before hand and if there is room at their graduation, they will let you in. Do you think it will be worth it to go and risk the possibility of not seeing him graduate? and what are the chances of me getting in so that i can see his graduation if i do go to the visitor center? im thinking of going regardless just so that I can see him a little bit while he is on liberty that night before he goes off to A school.

I say you still go. There's always extra room. Well a bit, you know. Plus, I think you should wait till you guys get the list. There he listed the 4 names. And even if you don't get to see his graduation, it's worth seeing him.

You can almost assuredly get in.  I've not heard of anyone who has not.

When we went to our son's PIR we had 8 people and everyone got in no problem.  The ceremony is not that long and if by chance you don't get in you would have the rest of that day and the weekend to spend with him.

How many different divisions were in your sons PIR?

It is NOT correct everyone does NOT get into PIR!  IF there is 10 or more divisions...they may not allow extra guests in...if there is 12 divisions the odds are slim to none you get in.

Your PIR group will have at least 11 divisions PIR...and there may be 12.

IT is up to the recruit who gets into PIR, not up to the parents.

The PIR's after the high school graduations are ALWAYS hard to get into...why...all the SR in high school just graduated and they just left for the military.  Sot he PIR's have more divsions PIRing...so there is less chance of getting anyone extra in.

What school/job/rating is he getting?  If he is staying in Great Lakes for "A" School...he will leave shortly after PIR to move to the main base.  Once there it will take 3-5 hours to check in, after that he will have liberty all weekend long, though he has to be back on base every night by a certain time and will be allowed off base at a certain time for liberty again

My husbands graduation had 14 divisions and there were a lot of ppl that didnt get in. But they also said it was the biggest graduation they had ever had.
