I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

Focusing- sane as what halfofawhole said- my fiance didn't get a chance to call me the first time his division got a call because he had watch during the time they got phone privilege! Chances are it's not his parents he's gonna wanna call first chance he gets... it's gonna be you. Though we know our sailors love their families dearly, there is a special bond that grows incredibly strong between significant others during boot camp and I'd bet money that he just didn't get a chance to call you. I agree though- ask his parents if they got a call. If so, you'll get the next one. If not- just keep waiting patiently!

what division is he in? how long has he been there? I dont think its a downer, many possiblities could have happened so that maybe he could call you. I would be upset and hurt as well since I just wait by the phone and pray everyday for a letter. Keep your phone near u tho maybe he will be calling u soon:)

Okay. I dont want to bring anyone down, but am I expecting too much to get a call since Im just the GF? Everyone in his Div seems to have gotten their first call last nite. sighs. Im so usually not a downer, but it hurts. Ive been writing everyday and dont get a call? Ok. enough sulking!!

CONGRATS to all the letters and calls. And thank u so much for letting me vent. Dont know what Id do without u all.

Hbonnie- Ya we want to get married before his A school ends which his is a year. My parents seem to think I wont finish school if I get married...which would never happen. I have dreams and goals for my future and just because I get married does not change things. I just want him there with me:) Good luck to you guys and hope your parents get better with everything.
Trace- I am 19, and yes it does effect me. I want them to be happy for me. I felt like a little kid with a teddy bear but, it makes me feel closer to him everytime I press that foot and hear his voice.

I wish all of you ladies good luck with your sailors and your relationships. This is hard but, we have to be strong and know our love will make it through anything:)
Torn- I hope there is mail today, I remember the days of running to the mailbox everyday. Don't get your hopes up if there is no mail though there is always tomorrow

Well, since I'm the most seasoned wife here, I guess this one's in my area of expertise. My dad was Navy too, so I know about it from all angles! Yes, it is very much worthwhile. Yes, it is very difficult at times and you think you'll never see the good in it. This is the time you learn so much about yourself as an individual, when you find your strength and your ability to handle change. You are far outside your comfort zone, and you have so much to learn and to process, so much to take care of without those loving arms around you. This is when you find out how deeply he dwells in your heart. This is when you stand up tall and make adult decisions. Not being in contact makes the times together all the sweeter. You no longer take each other for granted, you know how special you are to each other.

I have been married 23 years, and we are still going on honeymoons. We are very loving, knowing what life is like alone, or with a bad partner. We know to cherish our time, not to fight over petty crap. We are financially responsible and have excellent work ethics. I had two cancers in one year, screening through Tricare saved my life and paid my medical bills. I got my BS degree. We own a nice little home. His retired pay covers our mortgage and insurances and lets us have a little extra. We have traveled the world and experienced so much, both together and on our own. We have lifelong friends all over the globe. I can't imagine how dull my life would have been without the Navy.

Not everyone is cut out for the hardships which come with the life. Many stumble, some fall. Only you can know if your feet will find the right path. Usually if you can follow your heart through the dark times and rough places, yes, you can walk tall as a Navy Wife.
