Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

i am actually looking at two places when i come out for PIR.One is actually in Wisconsin but its right over the line 20 min to A school. But we can not live together for awhile were not married I am also looking at one in Zion?( i think lol). cute places reasonable rent.I have 3 kids and a big dog.So i can let someone know about the one i dont take.My heart is pulling me to Wis not sure why, but i really really like the owners and they are willing to wait for me.Ill keep you guys posted.

While I don't have my fiance's name tattooed on me, I do have a tattoo that has his initials. I have been with my fiance for over 6 1/2 years and we're getting married this month. I was always against name tattoos, but got his initials with very little hesitation. But my decision was made completely easy because his initials also happen to be my favorite grandmother's initials. From what I heard from a tattoo artist, it is a curse for a guy to get a girl's name tattooed on them, but when it a girl does it, it's not. But I guess that could just be that guy's opinion (& he didn't do mine so he had no benefit from saying that)

I'm not big on name tattoos, and I have friends with enough ink on them to start a newspaper, so I've seen plenty. I like symbolic tatts like the anchor. I have a tiny ankh to match my hubby's ankh tattoo.
And what if the artist misspells it and you don't notice until he's done? That's my nightmare!

I would say the anchor and hat are symbolic enough! Everyone around you is going to know the connection between that tattoo and your significant other, so why chance it with a first or last name? Unless it's your maiden name and holds some family pride... I probably wouldn't even do that ;) and Lord knows I love my husband to freaking death... But that's just me!
