For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I got a letter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stop smiling. It's super short, but totally worth it. He sent it on 5/2 and I just received it.
He also told me I could start sending letters, but I've been sending them since 4/26...hopefully he has gotten some of them :-(

Are there any Groton girls here that would know if i'd be able to park my car on base? I'm going to visit my boyfriend tomorrow (who is only in phase 1) but as of now i'm planning at parking at a pizza place 10 minutes from base. Were planning to stay on base most of the day except to go out for dinner in which we'll be taking a cab to get there, but I was wondering if i'd be able to park on base instead of the parking lot, i'd feel safer leaving my car on base as opposed to anywhere else.

my boyfriend just started A school, and so far i am loving it. I get to talk to him almost everyday, i get little emails/messages out of the blue. Granted it is only the first week, but so far it is great.
I think it depends on the school they are at as to their schedules ( mine is a nuke)

Zgirl-Dont lopose hope. Double check how you address your letters. They have to be just so, and make sure you use a white envelpoe with nothing special on the outside.

I'm sitting here thinking about my Sailor and I remembered that amazing feeling of the first hug/kiss after bootcamp. Anyone else wish you could relive that moment over and over and over again? :)

aaronsgirl- i'm sooo jealous! i wish i could go and see my boyfriend at GC because PIR last weekend was such a tease! I'm hoping to go down in either august (for his bday) or september. let me know how it is down there and any advice on site seeing/hotels etc

Ahhh! I just booked my flights to go see my boyfriend in June!! :)
I'm heading down to North Carolina and will be chilling with my cousin (who's like my sister) who is married to a Marine. Then the three of us will be drive the four hours down the South Carolina to see my Nuke! I'm so extremely excited :)

Focusing on the Future... Only you know your heart and I think its wonderful . Make sure to write him alot while he is at BC .Good luck and Welcome to the site its great all the women here are great and full of all sorts of info and there is always someone who has been through or is going through it. Just a wonderful support system.
