I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

We were supposed to have holidays and summers, but we never did. We would have had to go to CT and fight there. Depends on which state the agreement is drawn up in, and if the other parent decides to cooperate and/or fight. We never fought, because we couldn't get enough time or money to go do so. Plus it seemed cruel to take him away from his mom.

The lawyer i talked to did my papers when i was little and i was like look i aint okay with sending her away for that long..the way she put it was i do it that way or fight for custody straight out.i have tried to look up different things however most of what i find is/or is close to what she told me.

Hannah..... In most states the father cant even have the child over night until they are 2yrs of age and usually if one parent lives in a other state the fater and mother alternate holidays and father does get the child part of the summer. each state does thing a little different you can look up your state laws on custody.

Hannah...i know the feeling! My ex has a very rich family and they have spent tens of thousands fighting me! They fight and care more than my ex does. I eventually have to leave my son behind for my husband and our future children....it kills me. BUt let me tell u this, they will not do the week thing with an infant...they wouldnt even it do it when my son was 2.

We are doing papers for custody. He had a DNA test done cause of some of his family members where being ignorant. But he never signed the birth certificate. He has helped with raising her we have set schedule on when he has her i mean he is an active part of her life.He wants her to have his last name he just wanted all the legal papers done. His family has taken me in and treated me as their own and paid for alot for me and helped me alot. When i got engaged it was like i smacked them in the face or something.they told me i wasn't leaving.I have heard them say they would go to court for custody.Even my lawyer said i would have to send her home for weeks at a time..at least two weeks a month , 6-8 weeks in the summer and holidays were horrible..I haven't told them anything about moving or plans except i am planning on getting back into school..
cp7..My sailor more than likely will never be close to here at a base the closest to here is 9 hours or so...i have thought up all kinds of scenarios but in the end i am choosing one over the other and i hate that. But i feel bad cause i know this is ugly but my daughter always comes first to me over anything...
the way his family is they would fight me so hard to get her..they have alot more money and connections than i do in the town we are from and it is so hard to think if i try to move to be with my fiance they will take my daughter.
