For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I was in teh Nay when we married, so that was my job. After, in Japan, I worked on base at the dry cleaners (sucked) and food service (sucked more). Then I was a substitute teacher on base for seven years, and I taught conversational English and tutoring in my home. In San Diego, I worked in the community college offices I was attending (work study). When he retired, we moved to Utah and the VA sent me back to school. I worked in an insurance office until the VA sent me back to school. I graduated, but got sick and he let me stay home after that. Between his retired pay and his current employment, I can be a retired homemaker and artist. Not much in the way of a career, but certainly a variety of jobs and experiences.

My other half is in the air somewhere between Portland, Or and GL. I even held in the tears during the oath ceremony. Yeah! for me. I hope he is in good spirits.

YAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY! just got [3] envelopes FULL of letters. My hubby got moved up in rank ... E-2 and when he gets to A-school he'll be and E-3!!! Im soooo happy right now.

my hubby is in the navy, and september will be two years that we have been married. Our first year was really tough and I never want to visit it again. I am learning daily that it takes a lot of strength to be in a relationship with someone in the service. I guess I was selfish and I didn't understand him as swell as I do now. I didn't have him as priority and he was feeling left out. I just want to know if there is any advice out there for a new young couple...I could use it:)

He tried army several years ago but got medically released from boot camp, and is too old for air force. He wants to join because of how much his hours have been cut from work and he doesn't know how much longer he will be there. He's always wanted to be in the service and he is really thinking about trying to go career.

I did see it. We don't even know for sure if he will be able to get his waivers for medical (metal in his hand), vision (very poor) and age (29). So I'm sure you can imagine how we feel about his 3 options to even get to Meps... What happens if we get married for "convenience" only to find he can't get in....
