Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

And some great news...Tyler will be stationed in Gulfport for 2  more years...still just 2 1/2 hours from home...We are pleased as punch!

Tyler is trained in small arms and ammo....At the moment he is part of a Convoy Security Element riding on a truck in the desert as part of their security...

Jjw1125, look in the discussions above.  You'll find a discussion that will answer your question.  There are several kinds.  My GM takes care of small arms and ammo, but others take care of other kinds of arms and ammo.

Tyler re-enlisted yesterday...He's in for 5 more years...Don't know where he'll be stationed yet...but we sure have enjoyed having him at Gulfport, MS

Pam- my daughter is attached to EOD - no ship as yet.  She really loves her job! (tho she cant say a lot about it)

denise,  my son is in San Diego has been there for a year now.  What ship is your daughter asigned to?  My son is on the Cape St. George, only females on the ship are Officers.

Just saw this on another group page and thought it would be good to share it here as well:

We recently received notification about a scam that may be going around to the family members of deployed Service Members. It is unclear how this email originates with the family members but we were made aware of the issue by the fiance of a service member. She wrote to DOD officials asking why a family member of a military member would be expected to pay for a leave request, why the fee was so expensive and why the fee could not be deducted from his pay.

At no time, should a family member be expected to pay anyone in the department of defense in order for a service member's leave to be granted.

I am sending this to you to make you aware that there is a leave phishing scam asking individuals to send money to support leave for our Service members (see e-mail trail below). It isn't clear if this specifically targets the family members or if it is a blanket email being circulated.
