I thought it would be great to get a group together of people who have a Gunners Mate in training or one on duty. I hope we can all give each other a little insight as to what is in store for our Navy Men and Women!!

Matt moved out of the Farragut today. I guess they closed down the entire ship for renovation. He says the new ship is filthy, has cool water and his room has no heat. Lovely. Since he is still sick. Oh well at least he is in A school.

Good morning everyone! Ruth, you won't believe this, but we were in Mission, TX, at the Bentsen Palm Village Resortl...right in your area. My brother and sister-in-law are the general managers of the resort and we went down to spend the holidays with them and miss a little of the winter weather where I live in California. Too bad I hadn't met you on here before our trip...it would be nice to meet in person. Have a very nice day!

Our son Dan's PIR was Jan 2 - he's been on hold for a few weeks since SCC and just started ATT 3/27 or 3/26. He's in school from something like 3 to midnight.

Congrats Josh, that is awesome. Now he is on his way. I know he will be happy to be out of GL. Way to go.

My son says the recruits bring in new viruses with every class. He's been sick a lot, too. Vee, where did you spend your time in Texas? We have a place in the Rio Grande Valley in Donna.

Robyn...I spent 2-1/2 mos in Texas this past winter and really enjoyed getting out of the cold weather for that length of time. Even tho I live in California, we do get winter where I live.....

Hi Robyn...I sure know what you mean about the allergies. My Michael has been sick quite a bit since he got to the base last November. I called it the "California boy in Chicago" syndrome. He won't go the doc either and he just sounds horrible when I talk with him. I think the hardest has been when they have to stand duty outside in that cold weather. Yes, I think ATT is self-paced. Thanks for your congrats!!!! Have a great day!
