For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Jose- USS England, how about your daughter? Does she get to come home for the holidays? I hope they can start school as soon as they get back so that they can get it finished. When did your daughter graduate?

Thank you Tara22. I spoke with my daughter and she said that they would be on hold till after the holidays. what ship is your son assigned to?

Jose- my son is on hold for GM school also. From what I understand they will go to school for 26 weeks. I am assuming they will be finished in April. At that time they will get to pick their orders, they will either go to C school or out to fleet. I am not sure how correct my information is on after A school it's just info that I have been given.

Hello everyone my daughter is currently at GL A-school waiting to class up for GM and has put on hold until after the holidays any information as to how long schooling will be or advise that can passed on to her regarding schooling would be greatly appreciated.

Hi moms! My son is graduating on Nov. 1st. He gets orders next Tue. Eeek! Nerve wracking and exciting all at once! He has loved GM school and living on base. School isn't easy but he's worked hard and done well. Exploring Chicago has been a blast for him as he grew up in a very small town (literally one stop light here in rural Oregon!) Blessings on all of you and your sailors! May the ones just starting out in school enjoy the journey as much as mine has. Congrats Ruth to your son. Such inspiration! That's awesome! :)

Just checking in. My GM just earned his EXWS (expeditionary warfare specialist) badge. It was a big deal--murder boards (a 5 1/2 hour "practice for the oral boards like an interrogation to find out what he knows and doesn't know about the Navy and his rate), then a written exam, and the oral boards. He passed with flying colors! In face, the officer in charge of it all called all his chiefs and told them he was the best candidate they've seen in a long time. Proud mom moment! So those of your sailors just starting out, there are many opportunities for a GM career. Mine is on the track to be a LDO, limited duty officer, so an officer with a specialty. His PIR was spring 2004.

My daughter was the same. He will be able to use his cell phone once in A-school, so that will help with being able to get in touch with you more. I was the grocery store for my daughter and helped her learn how to shop for herself when I couldn't send something right away. He should get his address soon. If he has his phone I would send a text message asking what kind of food he would like for you send. That will get him to communicate right away. He'll be stuck in base for a while and will have to earn being able to leave for the weekends. Once that happens encourage him to go out and see the sights and hang out with friends.

Hi June! I believe my son is starting A school on Monday. Food is always a good option for him as well!! I am just waiting for an address now. He is not the best communicator.... ugh!! Thanks for the helpful tips!!
