FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi codysmom your welcome. What is your sons rate then I'll be able to help you with finding other groups. Glad your son will be at Groton nice place. Mystic seaport is not to far from there when you come for a visit. My son enjoyed his time at Groton. Now it time for his new home Pearl Harbor, Hi. Thanks again.

Hello everyone just had to say my sons last day at Groton will be tommorow. He will be home for 2 weeks. He will then leave to his new home station at Pearl Harbor, HI. I've made friends in this group and will miss you guys. I will at times come back to this group to say HELLO. Spongee and Kirsten I will be talking to you girls on HAWAII & PEARL HARBOR, HI groups. Eveyone have a great one!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know my husband and I had a great time at our sons graduation 7/30. We met some of my son friends. We went to Mystic Seaport and had a great time. I posted some pictures of the graduation on my page. All are welcome to look at them. Kirsten have a great visit with your sailor.

all of the Navy's "secure" websites do that - they use some sort of odd-ball security certificate that's not recognized by standard browsers, but they are 100% safe

I think MMS just means MM (subs) which could be either auxiliary, or weapons. They are quite different jobs, though.

LOL Gay - actually I believe I did completely agree with Tanya on that a couple of days ago. If I didn't then, I will now - both of the non-nuke MMs (auxiliary and weapons) "A" schools are in Groton.
