For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Be also said that August 7th is the day he signs out of Groton. May have a week or two leave then he will be going to Hawaii. I will double check on this when I find out anything I'll let you girls know.

I can't believe how happy he is, he came home this past weekend since he's only 2.5 hours from home. He had the biggest smile on his face. We are so proud of everything he's done so far. I had about the USS Hawaii. I look it up pretty impressive sub. Thanks again if you think of anything else or have an site that I can get more info that would be great.

If your son is on a boat in Pearl, it will be a fast attack, since that is all that are homeported there. It will also almost certainly be an LA class boat (688). There is one Virginia class boat headed there (the USS Hawaii), but it left Groton only about a month ago, and may take several months to get there, since it is switching coasts. Often ships switching coasts do it as a six month deployment, incorporating a "world tour", rather than transiting the Panama Canal.
