My son will be graduating from BESS on July 1st and then he will be shipping out to the fleet since he went through his A school first.  We have not seen him for a year and miss him very much. We are in California and will not be able to go to the Graduation but he said that he is taking leave afterwards. Is anyone going to go to this Graduation that maybe I can get pictures?

mama--ur so right about taking precaution when shipping the packages!! I mailed my son two boxes of contacts (he ordered them from base, but had them shipped here????...lol then i had to ship them to him in CT) ANYWAY...they never arrived..Actually, the woman at the PO said she remembers getting them but couldnt find them. He had to re-order. Thankfully, he told 1-800-contacts what happend and they shipped him more, completely free of charge

hello ,Lorie and heather...:)  my son has been in groton since february and is definitely itching to get on the move but probably wont be leaving there anytime soon. Its a long haul for these submariners when it comes to training/schooling. But im sure it will be worth it..:) If you ghave any questions...jut post them here and someone will answer them...lol ..there are no 'veteran' moms on the A-school groups, so we all pitch in to help each other..:)

If your package isn't super heavy, regular mail is probably fine. I used it for all of our packages before I got here. Use Priority mail, and your package is much, much less likely to have trouble if you put Insurance and Delivery Confirmation on it. It's not much more, and postal service people use a lot more care with packages that have those stickers on them! (I used to work for the post office)

cjasmin....in my case my son rent the box.  I used regular mail with a confirmation number and it take from down here FL 5 days.  I also use priority and it take 3 days and both work perfect for me.

NDG Groton SECF..... He is doing good.  To much to study, I miss talking to him on FB. He keep calling every Saturday.  We are going to see him the July 4th weekend. So far 3 day weekend, he think may be 4 days.  Can't wait to see him and give him a mama hug, 3 more weeks,  YAY!!!!!

Cjasmin518-I have the best shipping luck with FedEx. My USPS package was returned to me TWICE! My son missed his B-day present and Easter stuff. so, it's FedEx for me from now on. There is something about not using the po box number though, so see if he has an address that can work without that. I know that my son rents the box on base so it may be different from what your fiancé has.
Rose-how do you ship to J? And how is he doing? I miss hearing about him now that the boys are in different classes.
