Happy Veterans Day!!! We went to the National Cemetery yesterday. Solemn place to visit. Had explanations of WWII all along a wall, then Korean,  then Vietnam. Many people were placing flowers, we listened to a couple stories.

Karen, if you want to send me a msg I will share what I have learned about hotels... I don't want to get publicly scolded again for trying to help out my son.

Golfed at the Klipper at MCBH with my son. He was very patient with us and it helped that there were slow guys that we always had to wait for, lets say we got a lot of exercise golfing. They have holes on the ocean absolutely beautiful!!!

We also went to South Shore Christian Fellowship for church. Great place to worship.

Every day seems to be a bad hair day here, windy., which makes for some great waves!!!!!

Tysmom, yes we're planning on being there for homecoming.  He's out to sea so how do I make arrangements without him to sponsor us?  I don't care about cooking because he shares a house with some other guys and we can cook there.  Just need a "cheap" decent place for the 3 of us (my daughter is going too).

Karen, are you planning on attending homecoming? If you son is here he can sponsor you at a variety of places. We are staying at MCBH on Kaneohe on the windward side. Theres Navy Lodge, Hale Koa in Wikiki and hundreds of hotels and condo types if you want to cook.

MyLAS:  Could you post the name of the hotel that your son chooses?  My son is out on deployment and wouldn't check any out for us before he left (said he didn't have the time - which was true I'm sure) - we're planning a trip in March 2016 and need some info on inexpensive hotels.  Any help is appreciated!

The internet on the boat is terribly slow so he asked me to do some shopping.  Just trying to help out. Have booked 2 hotels and trying to decide between them before I cancel one. Just thought someone who was in the area could help....

MyLAS: My humble opinion is let him find his own, it is another growing experience. There is a good bus system, And if some of the sailors are old enough they can rent a car, The MRW can help them too,( unless he asked you to).

Yes it is close, busy place, lots to do!!!!
