This is an army unit.  In fact, it is the army unit that we had planned to mail with the CEB but things didn't work out for that.

I have a new POC and she is excited to help.  I do not have a specific number as yet, but she said around 400, with 20-30 females.

I am scheduling 2 waves at this point in time, beginning next week.  This unit has been there since last fall and still  have months to go, so I want to get going on them right away.

Wave 1 is 3-5 thru 3-8  228 mailed

Sue - 100 *, Kathy in PHX - 60 *, Lyn - 15 *, Ally - 30 *, Terry T - 23 *

Wave 2 is 3-19 thru 3-28 mailed

Pat K - 30 *, Sue -18 *, Cindylaine - 25 *, m's mom (Joy) - 25 *, Natalie - 25 *, Ama - 12 *, Maryellen - 43 *

Mailed 406 and it is DONE!

How exciting to know our pillowcases have been able to reach so many service members!  And to hear back from them is so great.  I got a call from my son this  past weekend and he said to pass on that the people he sees from the Army unit are so happy to have their pillowcases.

pillowcases sent from Pat K

Here's my 25 pcs!

25 sent out Tuesday

Ladies, they are beautiful!  such great fabrics.  Thanks for posting the photos and for mailing.  I will get my posted this weekend.

Unless our contact says different, we have completed this unit./

The pcs were made by Ama in FL and I got this email from our POC yesterday:

Thank you!  Sometimes I think I've already responded, but clearly I haven't!  yes, we've received the pillowcases and have been passing them out.  406 is enough!

I hope you don't mind, but some of the Soldiers have asked if they can send their pillowcases home for their spouse or child to sleep on. I told them it was their pillowcase and they could do what they wanted with it. One dad said he's giving it to his little girl 'from daddy in Afghanistan' and she can hug it at night.

Respectfully,

Remi

I wrote back and told her "absolutely".  Makes you want to cry.

Finally got my photos downloaded.   I mailed  118 to this unit.
