Dear Sue and all,

the pillowcases were beautiful, the nurses here at NATO in Afghanistan really appreciate you all thinking of us. Everyone got a pillowcase except our skipper and the XO-who are both doctors. You will never truly know how much we love them and you! thanks again,

In Christ,

Cathy     p.s. I'll send an email picture ASAP

I felt wonderful and bad at the same time! 9 of the nurses are from other countries, but 2 were left out. So I emailed her back and asked if I miscounted. turns out she didn't include them, but they saw the pcs when they arrived and wanted one.

Got this thank you note yesterday:

To the wonderful Person/People who make the pillow cases and send them to our troops,

My name is Teresa and I am deployed to Afghanistan currently. With in the first few days of deployment I was gifted with a beutiful case for my pillow! It is on my bed as we speak and is lovely. It has heldped to make this space more my own and serves as a reminder of the support we have at home. Thank you again. Take care and God Bless!

Teresa
She is with the nurses and I just sent another batch to them cause the XO and skipper didn't get one. she took the one in the lower right hand corner. Look at the band edge! It is really pretty;

I received this wonderful note this morning from Paul, Tim's dad.  There is also a photo of Tim with the pc, but I won't post it until they give permission to do it.

Ray & Sue - just wanted to send you a note of thanks from Tim and myself for the Marine pillow case you guys sent. Its beautiful. I am attaching a picture of Tim. I asked him if he wanted to put the case on his pillow in the hospital and he said no, he wants to save it for later. In the hospital, things get spilled on the bed linens regularly - food, blood etc. so he doesn't want to ruin it. He has been here at Bethesda for a little over a month and his improvement is remarkable. He has one more surgery next week and then they plan to send him over to Walter Reed to begin the first stage of his rehab.

I had to chuckle when I read the part in your letter about going on a "tiger cruise" with your son, Ben. I was in the Navy from 1966 to 1970. While parents then would have been allowed to tour the ship while it was docked, I don't think they would have been allowed to sail on it. Thats a nice change.

Anyway, thank you again for the beautiful pillow case and thanks for all your prayers. They are working. Tim and I really appreciate what you are doing for our troops. God bless you both.

For SSgt. Timothy Brown

here's another one that I recevied from the unit on the CVN 65, the USS Enterprise:

I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the colorful pillow cases. I have distributed to the sailors and they accepted them with open arms. Thank you very much.

ET1 Joseph xxxx

tried to download the photos today, but no action.  so I have to call the geek squad again.  man, that frustrates me.

here's a thank you from my contact on the Enterprise:

Ms. Lamberson,

Thanks for the pillowcases, they arrived yesterday. I’m still in the distribution process but so far they seem to be a hit!

Thanks again to you and your entire group for everything you do. It’s a little surprising what a simple thing like a colorful pillowcase can do for morale.

Regards,

ET1(SS/DS) Jonathan

here are the pcs that I mailed to Jonathan on the Enterprise:

Here is Tim's photo with his pillowcase.  He and his dad gave permission for me to post it here.

this one went to an army soldier this week:

this one was sent to an IA in the sandbox:

here's a thank you note from the sailor who is an IA:

Hi Sue,
I just wanted to say thank you much for the package you sent me. i love the pillowcase and currently have it on my pillow. i think the program is a great way to boost morale of the service members that are deployed. i currently have a few friends on the Lincoln. that is one big ship! anyways i hope your family is doing well and thank you very much!

sincerely,
michael

these were sent to a NE NG unit this week  107 went, but I only mailed 30.

These are so nice. Love the fabrics!!!!

got a nice thank you note this morning from the NG unit that I mailed to in Jan.

Hello Sue and Ray Lamberson

I am a physician assistant CPT in the US ARMY currently deployed to Afghanistan. I wanted to finally email you to tell you THANK YOU so much for the pillowcases. We received them while mobilizing in WA. I picked out the dog pillow case and also was lucky enough to get the fleece green and brown striped pillow case.

I had to put my dog down last Sept and was in grief over having to do this. So when I saw the pillow cases, I was praying there was one with a dog on it. When I saw the pillow cases and the 1 that had multiple dogs on it, I picked that one and was so happy. It brought tears to my eyes.

Now that we are here in Afghanistan, I have travelled all this way with my pillowcases. It has really made me feel at home.

We are working hard to keep all the soldiers from all the surrounding areas healthy.

Again, thank you so much for the thoughtfullness. Without people like you this mission of ours would be very difficult indeed.

Julie, Physician Assistant , Captain

love reading these notes!
