Heads At Ease, 

I wanted to extend a BIG thank-you to Stripper Quilt Guild for the handmade
pillow case. I am currently using it while deployed to Africa. I also know
my other fellow soldiers are enjoying theirs as well. The time it took to
make, as well as the thoughtfulness put into all of the pillow cases touches
my heart.

It means a lot to us individuals who serve our country, that people back home that we don't even know are thinking about us. Today we had got mail for the second time as whole for the ship, but I'm still waiting to receive mine that has been sent. I know it takes a while to get to us. Furthermore I was thrilled to have receive your unforgiveable kind gesture. I already put it on my rack and intend to sleep with it every night and keep it forever rather I stay in or get it of the service, I will always remember this day. It really brightened my mood today. This being my first deployment and yet not received my mail from my family and friends means a lot that I got something homemade from a stranger, I can't tell you enough how thankful I am! To you and your and your family stay blessed and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And again, thank you so much!

Dear 1^st Baptist Ladies of Muleshoe, TX, 

Four days before Christmas I’m standing watch in Combat Information Center onboard the Guided Missile Destroyer USS Higgins DDG-76 as we patrol the Persian Gulf, when I’m given a gift by my Executive Officer dressed up like Santa Clause. The gift was your pillowcase along with some candy. Happily I thanked him and felt there was a note inside. I fished around the pillowcase and with the ambient blue lights onboard our ship I found and read your note.

I want to give you my deepest Thank You for such lovely words that you wrote. It is people like yourself, true American women, going above and beyond your normal duties that make us feel right back at home both mentally and spiritually. And tonight/this morning I know that when I put this pillowcase on my pillow that there will be a physical connection from home.

Once again, Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you all have a safe and Merry Christmas.

I just received a wonderful pillow case and handmade card from Carol C. Thank you so much for taking time out of your life to send us these thoughtful gifts. It means a lot knowing people back home are thinking about us while we are forward deployed. I will sleep well tonight knowing there are caring folks sending their prayers.

On behalf of the crew of the USS Gonzalez (DDG-66)...

I would like to express my sincere thanks for all the hard work and love put into the pillowcases that your organization sent us recently. 

It was like Christmas morning and we were all children again while the pillowcases were placed in the chow hall for everyone to take. 
There was lots of laughing and smiling while everyone picked out the perfect pillowcase. The one I picked out is yellow and has Indians all over it, which is super comfortable and puts me to sleep in no time flat :)... 

So please express my thanks to all of your volunteers for taking the time to think of us while we are far away from home and all of our families and loved ones...especially during the rough times like the holidays. But because of your organization, I can assure you that ever since then we have all slept a little better :) Myself included.
