Sue, I am so glad Dawn is okay, but so sorry to hear about the bombing.
Sue, Thanks for posting that Dawn is okay. She is right ... if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, it can have devastating consequences. She mentions fighting season ... when is it not fighting season over there?
I have a question. My husband just deployed with the Dubuque. How do I go about getting a pillowcase for him?? I'm sure he would love it..
I would love to send your husband a pillowcase. I can send it to him or mail it to you and you can send it to him. Message me an address and I will get one in the mail. Also, does he have a favorite hobby or sport, team, school, etc that I could possible find fabric for that would make it more special for him?
Thanks guys! How wonderful. Lee loves his Atlanta Falcons football team. Him and his dad used to go shooting a lot too [dunno how appropriate that would be! haha]. Those seem like a couple manly things he wouldn't mind seeing on his pillow case. Or even a wording sorta thing like a I or We love you/ miss you, etc. Or something goofy like Wild thing. Haha. My husband has a good sense of humor. :]

This is wonderful what ya'll are doing. Hope if I ever end up deployed I'm on the receiving end of this one day! Too cool.

Sue, how would I go about donating? I have a lot of family and friends other than myself that I'm sure would love to donate and possibly even want to join your group of stitching divas! :]

His cube?? Are you talking about his Berthing? [forgive me, I'm coming to the end of my 12hr night shift at the Naval hospital and my brain's a little fried.] I'm not too sure. It's an amphib so there's not too many Navy. Maybe 300 on the ship total. A lot more Marines. :]

And we're originaly from Az ourselves, Sue. But the Phx/Fountain Hills area.
I will be in OKC today and will look for fabric for him. On the shooting, my guys are all over that. lol My oldest son seems to think that since he doesn't have a girlfriend right now that he needs to buy as many guns as he can before he gets one. In fact, all my kids, including my daughter have guns and on July 4th, all the kids, (my nephews, sons and my daughter) get in a line out in the field and just shoot. I'll message you when I need an address. Thanks for letting us know about your husband and I am happy and proud to do this for him.
Thank you so much! I'll try and keep this a surprise. Lol, I know he'll be wondering what I'm up to when I ask about his "cube." I'm bad at surprises anyway. :]

Haha, that's awesome! Lee has a tattoo on his back in tribute of my father in law. He used to be into the old cowboy style shooting with six shooters and shotguns, and his "cowboy name" was Tight Noose. So that's exactly what's on his back. It's neat ya'll have a field that you can shoot in! I'm jealous. I need to find a place out here in SD to go shooting at. I'm not a fan of indoor ranges so that makes it hard. We brought our little 9mm home and he made me promise to practice. Just in case. haha, I love my slightly protective husband. ;p Makes me feel loved, so I can't complain!
Hi Right, please pm me your email address and we'll chat. I just accepted you as a friend so you can do that.

Kim, I had some Atlanta Falcons football fabric. I'll check to see if there is any left. don't remember.

The berthing is the big room, but on a carrier, it is broken down into "cubes"-6 racks to a cube. don't know about other ships.
Thanks Sue, I didn't find any in OKC. I did find lots of other. lol Going to have to work overtime! Lots of sales today I couldn't pass up. I had already bid on some on eBay so if you can't find it. I may have some coming anyway.
Oh! Not sure how it works on his little ship, but I'll send him an email and find out for you.
Hi righthere waiting, we would love to have you be involved in HAE as well. There are many ways to help with this wonderful project. It's totally done with donations.

Kim, thank you for handling that. I would like to see his cube done. How many are in there?
Hello Navy Moms,

I like what you are doing? Can anybody sew for you, and do you do AirCraft Carriers? (USS HST) I sew quilts, I am currently working on 2 double wedding ring quilts (one is for my Sailor/daughter the other is for my Airforce/son). Plus at least 3 other lap quilts that are on hold. If I can help, please let me know.

God Bless America
Navy Mom, Linda
