When we mail pillowcases to our "own" groups (not one of Molly's adopted groups), use this label only on the package. If the pillowcases are going to one of Molly's adopted groups, use both labels. Both labels are close in size. Download the HAE-Label.PDF file below and you will be able to print the Heads at Ease labels on Avery 8163 or plain paper. If you print on plain paper you will need to tape it onto the package. I have also added a note to be included in your pillowcases. Please fill in your name on the note. The note can be printed on Avery Postcards or plain paper.
We changed the label for several reasons. One was to make "Heads at Ease" more visible. Second, we needed a logo that was not copyrighted.
We were asked to make one for people who are not "Navy" Moms so here is what Sue and I came up with:
Hi, would love to get in on this...do you have some examples of pillowcases that have been done?
https://www.facebook.com/ussstennisfamilies Hi Cheryl if you are looking for information on the Pillowcase project for the Stennis you can find all of the information here on facebook or at the Uss Stennis Support Group here, on Navy for Mom http://www.navyformoms.com/group/testgroup Here is the link, it is private so you have to wait for approval but please do join us all here.
Welcome to HAE. And you have just started a new adventure with your son's deployment. If you can take the tiger cruise if it's offered, by all means do it!
Packages are always addressed to a specfic sailor, soldier etc. I do not believe the post office would even accept
one addressed to "random" for safety issues. For every group we mail to, we have a point of contact or POC who is in charge of distributing the pillowcases.
DWG is the mom coordinator for the Stennis and I see that she gave you all of the links for that project.
Heads at Ease has mailed to every branch of the service, including the Coast Guard. We will begin mailing to a marine battalion next month. I am looking forward to that.
If you'd like to buy some plain white or any color pc and decorate that would be just fine. I have learned tie dyeing with the Bush project and fell in love it with! I am anxious to try reverse tie dyeing-a colored pc and using bleach to create designs. it's lots of fun.
Any more questions, ask away. Please pm me your email address too,.
Cheryl, I am sorry I was assuming that you were looking for the Uss John C Stennis Pillow case project.
It is not a part of Heads at Ease.
Heads at Ease are an amazing group of ladies. Forgive me for jumping in on the conversation.
Pillow case Project for the Stennis is not a Heads at Ease project. Just for clarification. Some of the ladies have commited to making pillowcases for our project, with Heads at Ease.
The Stennis Carrier Pillow case project was started by Myself when I pursued permission from the Command. I am not only the Point of Contact for the project, but It is run by Myself and the Ladies of the John C Stennis.
Thank you for your support Sue! All pillowcases should be sent to the ship from here on out. Thanks for clarifying that. I have a few places to update all the information, trying to get to that!
If anyone needs the address to the ship, and our contact on the ship, please PM me :)
I just want to clarify that the postal service will deliver the pillowcases with the Heads at Ease label only? Should we mail the pillowcases individually or as many as possible in one package? Looking forward to mailing my stack of cases :)
If all the pillowcases are going to the same location, pack them in one box. Sue is the master of packing and get quite a few in one of the large fixed-price boxes. I can get about 33 in one box. You do need to put the address of the recipient and your return address. Then I put a HAE label on all sides so that no matter which side is up, HAE is advertised.
Sometimes we have shipped to a location as part of a group. In these cases we have had another label for the box. I still put the HAE label on the box.
I'm bringing this back up to the top, in case anyone else needs the labels.
back you go again - I just use 1 label on my boxes and put it to the left of the address.
I used a lot of labels, one for each side. I wanted people to see the label no matter the position of the box ... call it advertising.
