Okay, ladies, Sue has a mystery project and it is BIG! There are so many details that still need to be resolved and time is very short. So sewers, (wo)man your machines. Sue says, "we need generic patriotic prints for a huge mailing at the end of the month." Even if this falls through, the pillowcases will be used.

The challenge is on: How many different pillowcases can you get done?

Barbara, when you get an idea of the number, please let me know.

Sue, I wasn't sure if Matt's Mom had five continuous yards or five pieces of one-yard fabric. I find some clerks are more generous and careful when cutting than others. Sometimes I lose an inch or so when trimming up.

When I look at the pillowcases above, I think of how tickled a sailor from the west would be to see them. They are great.

Hey group, don't you just love mysteries??
Dori, you're right. I just assume 5 yards of the same. that does make a difference. Matt's mom, if you have any more questions, just ask. Dori is a great help.

I love a mystery! And I will say this ladies, once you know what the project is and it's a go, you will all want to be a part of it.

so in your spare time (haha) sew up a few pillowcases to have on hand. It will be worth it, trust me.

Ally made those and they went to the sub. I choose to show those, cause I like how she placed them lenght wise for the whole thng to show. Peggy suggested that I do that, but I ususally have too many to mail out, so don't do it.
So Ally, great job!
I am still not able to reveal our mystery project. but keep sewing please. and let Dori know the count. I got a request today for 125 for the national guard! and here, I thought I had all the military branches covered. Forgot about them.

Of course, I want to mail 125 this week, but need to wait until we get a yay or nay on this mystery project. don't want Dori to shake me from Maine. haha.
And I have a long reach!

Right now we have around 40 to go but several have indicated a willingness to help. I just don't have their numbers yet.

Keep sewing!
I cut out the 3 that I needed to make for the October group last night. Also some apron special orders that I need to fill this week.
Then, I will get to mystery project sewing. I do want to do the guard soon, so I hope we get a yay or nay answer soon.
Dori, As of today, Wed. Oct. 14, I have 10...and I'm still working.
Thanks, Ally.
Okay, group, I have a request. As you know we are working on a Mystery Project. It looks like this will be a go and it will require a lot of pillowcases. I have been trying to keep count but have become hopelessly confused. Of course, I blame it on chemo brain ... that is such a convenient excuse! So I have a favor to ask: If you are going to sew pillowcases for the Mystery Project (and plan to keep them from "someone's" grubby mitts) please send an e-mail to: Heads_at_Ease@earthlink.net with your name (N4M user Id if you wish) and the number of pillowcases you will commit to provide. It looks like the shipping date will be delayed but plan before Thanksgiving.
And ladies, I am the "grubby mitt person". I love the new name. do you need me to email you the count that I gave last night?
I cut a bunch out last night too.
We're even, Sue. You're always accusing me of hitting you. You even have a friend watching your back.
I do have a friend watching my back- good thing too. haha. cause I can get into trouble pretty easy.
got 4 pillowcases today-2 that I lent out for a pattern and 2 more finished ones. So I will say 3 more to this project.
