This is just a basic replacement thread for the Bush.  It is now deployed.  Maryellen and some other HAE crew got to hand deliver the bulk of the pillowcases to the sailors before they left for deployment!!

Comment by Maryellen yesterday
This was done by one of The Bush moms, get the tissues out you'll need them.

What a great honor that was for them and Heads at Ease.  Here is the ship in Spain.

Note from a sailor on the Bush:

Thank you for the pillow case, i recieved it today in a big event in the hanger bay of our aircraft carrier.  Its nice to know theres people out there who appreciate what we do!!

Dear Mrs. Galbraith,

My name Is Kxxx Gxxxx and I am a member of the United States Navy serving onboard the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN77).  I wanted to let you know that I was very touched by your card and letters inside. The pillow case was very nice as well.  I really appreciate the time and effort that you spent on it. Your gesture of kindness truly means a lot to me. Thank you so Much.

 Very Respectfully,

AZ2(AW)  Kxxx R. Gxxxx

Birdie,
Thank you so much for putting forth all the hard work torwards this pillow case I have picked. Words can't describe how I feel about your hard work and support of us troops. I will be emailing you while we are on deployement to let you know how I am doing. Here is a little about myself. I grew up in mckenzie tn my whole life. I am 21 years old. I am happily married and have a daughter who is 15 weeks old. I am a aviation ordinanceman. I work in g-3 in weapons department. I build, stow and handle live ordinance. Thank you once again for your hard work and support of us troops. Can't wait to hear back from you.

Dear Birdie

I want to thank you for the pillow case(s) you made for all of us here at the USS George H. W. Bush. I extremely appreciate it. Not only is it nice to have new pillow cases but it makes the ship feel more like home for me. I’ve only been in the navy for a little over a year but I’ve been out to sea 8 times already excluding deployment, so I don’t get to go home often. I can speak for everyone by saying thank you. We are thankful for your support and appreciation for what we do.

To tell you a little about myself I am an Aviation Boatswains Mate. I work in the hangar bay onboard the ship. My duties include monitoring the aircraft and moving the aircraft in the hangar and on our ships elevators. Other ABHs like me also work on the flight deck. Im sure if you have ever seen Top Gun you have watched us in the opening credits. We are the guys in the Yellow, Blue, Purple, and Green long sleeves. Myself im a handler so we wear the yellow and blue. It’s an exciting job but its also very dangerous because we work in close proximity with the aircrafts.

But once again thank you and I appreciate my pillow case a lot. I sleep with it every nightJ

My name is Hxxxx Fxxxxx. I’m a chief on board the USS George Bush.

I picked up a pillowcase with fish on it. I picked this one because my sons and I love to fish. I took it home and showed them, they loved it. It was not until I unfolded it, that I found the card.

I just wanted to say thank you for the pillowcase and the cards. It makes a difference knowing that people back home care.

I have been married for 12 years and have 4 kids. So being away from home is the hardest part for me.

Every time I go to bed and see the pillowcase I smile and think of home.

Thank you very much,

MRC Hxxxx Fxxxxx

Thanks Sue things have been very crazy here and I just for got. I have notes to post and will try and get to them this week.

Birdie-Thanks for posting these.  It is nice to know they appreciate what we are doing for them.
