Super news, Donna. See if you can have her join us on Facebook, N4M or for lunch next time.
Carols kitchen - I checked after getting home yesterday, and my friend's son is on the USS North Carolina and he was just promoted to Lieutenant Junior in September - they are from Geff, IL
Kandra--need a geography lesson. What is Savanna close to?
Good morning ladies - I was planning to go to the one this Saturday the 21st, but now my son is leaving October 2 so I am going to cancel on this Saturday...want to get as much time in with my son as I still can :-)
JamieRN, you are not alone. My son's date has changed several times and now, I believe we are truly down to the nitty gritty and I am crying at the drop of a hat over quite a lot. Just talking about anything related to his leaving makes me well up with tears. December will be here before you know it, so make sure to enjoy the upcoming months and days!

Hi jalexander--we all experience a "loss" of sorts when our babies not only leave the nest, but leave it to join the military. We're here to help you along. There's two meet and greets going on--This Sat. Sept 21st in Fairview Heights, IL and Oct. 26th in Bollingbrook/Joliet area. There's someone meeting in Springfield, and there's a great Chicago moms group. So, we try to help in all parts of the state.
I am new here. My son will be leaving for great lakes on december 4th. I am feeling so many things right now and to be honest, not sharing with him , of course , that i am already in tears missing him and he isnt even gone. I am so happy i have found this as I hope to be encouragement to other moms and am looking for the same. I pray blessings for all of you on here and yours.:)
