Guess it isn't surprising to be thrown over for a cute sailor!!! That made me laugh out loud!!

Okay, ladies, I spoke to my daughter on the phone, and she gave me the rundown of what happened. I think she handled it about the best way she could have, and I have shared with her the lovely offerings of Pat L and Doreen to provide a ride. Doreen, she did ask if your son was cute, because that might possibly sway her. And I said, there have been far worst first dates recorded in history. :D

My son doesn't think there is anything unless it is official business. I would consider Sarge, he provides transportation in addition to the PIR meet and greet. I have read great things about his service. We met him at the meet and greet. Let me know if you need a ride from my son.

@Doreen: I don't have all the details yet, but I do know that he started talking to her at O'Hare and tracked her across the train, the bus, and a second train. That's when she really freaked and called police, because she kept telling him to go away and he wouldn't--but the minute she called 911, he left. Thank goodness. I was wondering: Does the USO have any kind of transport set up for servicemen and women from O'Hare? I know they have their own lobby area that the armed forces can use.

Chocoholic - We live an hour from GL and my sailor is home on leave until next Thursday. If your daughter needs a ride, etc, let me know and he can help her. This really bothers me because my daughter just started at Loyola (south of GL) and is riding the cta trains with her friends etc since moving there 2 weeks ago. Was he with her since O'Hare and how did she know he was stalking her?

It doesn't matter what your"child's" age is... An assault is an assault. Even when you are stalked... It is a violation like none other. I am a parent if a child who survived an assault from a complete stranger... The pain never goes away.. You just learn to live with it and somehow wake up every day and do your best to get through the day. You learn phrases like "situational awareness" and learn about agencies such as Northwestcasa.... I will pray for your daughter and for you today. I hope I wasn't inappropriate sharing my personal pain....

Got an update: when she called 911, the guy left her alone and the person on the other end stayed on the line with her until she got to the train station. She's back at GL visiting friends, but I have told her of Pat's fabulous offer. In addition, I feel quite sure that some of her friends there will want to give her a ride when it's time for her to travel again. Many thanks to everyone for listening and putting up with me.
