kaymarie, Writing letters is EXACTLY how Molly's got started. After those kids were finished with BC, we thought that if they didn't get letters in BC, what about our deployed kids? So every month since June, 2008, we have adopted a different deployed unit. And we have also adopted groups in all 5 branches of the military. The thank you letters and emails we have received are AMAZING! They just inspire us to do more!!

Pat L., I just looked up the "Molly's Adopt a Sailor". Funny thing is, I today I wrote my first letter to my son (I'll mail it when I get the letter with his address and PIR date) and I asked him to send me names of Sailors in his group who have either not gotten letters or are not expecting letters so I, along with my family and friends, can write to them and encourage them!!!  I didn't realize that there is actually a group for that!!! Terrific!!!!  I really hope we can come to Cantigny in September.  I put it on my calendar and if the other thing gets cancelled we'll be there!

kaymarie, Welcome to the Navy Family! I hope you can join us. It would be a great opportunity for you to meet other Navy moms. We have some terrific moms in the area and no one understands like another Navy Mom!

It would also be a chance for you to see what "Molly's Adopt A Sailor" does for our deployed troops. "Molly's" would be a great thing for you to become involved with!

There is no deadline but please let me know if you can attend so I can keep an eye out for you!! Pat

Pat L., our son just left Monday 7/22 for boot camp. We would love to sign up to help at Cantigny on 9/28 but we have something pending that weekend. How much notice do you need for volunteers?

The Villa Park VFW is in need of volunteers for the "Welcome Home and Thank You to All Veterans" on September 28 at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. Last year there was 4200 people in attendance and they are trying to make it bigger and better this year.

In addition to helping staff the Molly's Adopt A Sailor booth, there are lots of other jobs that need volunteers. PLEASE donate some time to this fabulous event and help these wonderful people salute our Vets!

You can leave me a message here or my email pleazenby@comcast.net.

Thank you for any support you can provide.

Hello Ladies. I'm new to this site. I live in Countryside, not that far from Carol Stream. My son ships out at the end of November. Looks like we'll miss Thanksgiving and Christmas with him. I'm glad we're close though and he'll stay at GL for A-school. I'm sure we'll be able to see him more than most.

Carols Kitchen- no I hadn't seen it... but I have looked at it since you forwarded it to me. Thx!
