Sandi8 - I am in Lake Zurich.  My Church has had 2 packing parties so far.  We are planning the next one & I will post the date when we figure it out.

Besides that, you are close enough to meet for lunch/dinner sometime.  Life gets easier for me in May.  Maybe we can plan another Northern meet & greet.

Fancy Nancy- I have a feeling you are a primary teacher, too. Am I right? I teach first grade in McHenry. My son is waiting for A school in Pensacola. He had PIR March 1. I'd love to hear from you. Enjoy your break!

Hi everyone!
I am on spring break and flew out to VA to see my son before he deploys. He leaves in a few weeks so I thought I would get out of cold northern Illinois (I am in Woodstock) and see my sailor. Wrong! It is snowing here in Williamsburg!
So much for spring!

My son had to change his course and went to RP school in South Carolina.

I'm still in south Texas till the second week of April, hoping that winter will leave Illinois by the time we come back.  I've been putting off making reservations in Springfield, not knowing what my schedule and finances would be.  My husband has been flying back and forth every other month as a contractor at the Rock Island Arsenal.  He lost his job because of the sequestration--not that he's upset.  It's his second retirement!

I got a call last week that I'm needed to go on my 5th Honor Flight!  Our QC Hub uses me when they need an experienced guardian for some reason.  The HF is on the 25th, but the mandatory orientation is the 20th.  Even though I've been to 5 orientations, each one is different, so I have to be there and meet the veterans.  Our granddaughters have their recital pictures taken that day also, so I'll probably be in charge of that, too.  I hate to miss Springfield!

I'm thinking we'll end up having a meet and greet in the QC sometime soon, too.  We have quite a few Navy moms just in that area.

If you're interested in 6 nights in Playa del Carmen at an all inclusive resort January 12, let me know.  The price from McAllen is $2602 per couple, and I can get prices from anywhere.  That includes flight, transfers, the resort.  You can private message me.

Sandi - Hi, yes we are practically neighbors just south on Rt 31.  We got lucky our sent spent his A School at Great Lakes so we got to see him pretty regularly on the weekends for 5 months. Now he is in San Diego and I am not sure when we will see him next.  Trying to see if he can get leave in July to come with us on a vacation with the family.  With the weather here, I would love to be looking for to a trip in a warm climate.  Have a great time with your son!

Doreen- We are in McHenry so we are practically neighbors! That was a little frustrating to have our son 25 miles away in Boot Camp but unable to see him!

Our son is in P'cola waiting to start A school as an Aviation Machinest's Mate (AD). We have plans to visit April 5-8. Bring on the sun! Can't wait!

I'd love to join a packing party if there are ever any up north! Sounds like fun!

I will have Apil info just as soon as we are done shipping out the March adoption with Mollys Adopt a Sailor :)
Comment by Sanmor on March 19, 2013 at 9:12pm

Evening ladies. Okay, I am still trying to make sure I can come to springfield, right now I really don't see why not. I need to know numbers etc for tthese boxes. Reason is because I make homemade bath and body, and have sent plenty via molly's adopt a sailor. I can bring enough soap, lip balms, possibly shower gels, even lotions if needed. I just need numbers ahead of time, so I can make sure I get enough made.

ASAP please, since it is just one month away
