Hello! I am marrying my Fiance Brandy when he finishes his A school in Groton, then we are moving (hopefully) to Kings Bay. He just received his written orders yesterday. Im looking forward to becoming a Navy wife and meeting other Navy wives. we also have an 8 month old son named Dakota. Is there anyone who lives in base housing available to tell me how long the wait is, and what is the area like? Im sure there are posts about it but im new to this site. thank you!! =)

Hi everyone! My husband has been stationed in Kings Bay, he is assigned to the USS Georgia blue crew. I am still in CT right now, but I will be moving down to Kings Bay in December. We have already decided to get off base housing, but I am having some trouble seeing I am not there to check anything out and my husband is already deployed. Any advise or suggestions that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I also would love to meet as many of you Kings Bay wives as possible, it would be great to actually know people when I get down there!

Littlemiss, I just sent you a friend request! My husband and I are from Hattiesburg, Ms! Living in base housing is a hit or miss. I know some people here that hate it, love it, or dont really care. I dont really mind honestly. We havent had any problems. If this is your first duty station, I suggest that you get base housing, but thats just me. It allows you to get on your feet a little and learn the area, plus you are already on base so its not far for your husband to get to work. But you can find some really nice places around in St. Marys and Kingsland. I know that there may be a waiting list for housing right now since they are relocating family of the USS TN back here since they have been in drydock in VA. If you want to know anything else, feel free to ask. Do you know what boat your husband will be reporting to?

Hey all my fiancé just got his orders and will be in kings bay aug 16 and we are going to get married before he gets there. I'm still new to everything and I am hoping to go there in about another year. Any advice about anything would b great!!

hey ladies!

I'm sure this question has been asked 1,000 times, but I'm a little unclear on how this all works. My fiancee and I are getting married next month while he is finishing up sub school in Groton. After he's done in Groton he'll be heading to Kings Bay to finish up A school. Is it possible for me to live either on or off base with him while he is in school? Or do we have to wait until he finishes school?

Any help is so much appreciated! :)
